I'll have to read her article but in what way was Earthworm Jim ever intended as satire? I think it was intended to be surreal and cartoony, but it has been a long time since I played the game. I will have to give the article a read.

Wait, why was she not enjoying Earthworm Jim, that game is a lot of fun!

I had an ex gf who complained about everyone constantly crying in the pilot and my response was, if you just found out someone you cared about was brutally murdered in a horrible way, you would be crying your eyes out too.

I am actually a little worried about this. I feel like most people are expecting a switch to get hit and everything is going to lock into place and we are going to have like 3 hours of total fucking batshit stuff happening at an incredible clip, I'm just not sure any switch is going to get hit.

Yeah, I get not liking certain aspects, I find myself getting impatient here and there, but each scene works so well on its own and there is plenty going on plot wise.

Ha!

This is a good example of how statistical models do not in fact equate with objective reality.

Of being an asshole or being a decent person?

Yes, it is eye rolly, but I like that he admits it and doesn't apologize for his own sense of disgust, which is more deeply rooted than most forms of socialization. He's being honest despite it not exactly being a polite or needed thing to say. That's good enough for me.

I hate to exercise myself (and mostly don't) but our bodies were made for the African Savannah, we need to exercise because we don't use our bodies in a natural way. I hate it, and I don't get a feel good rush from it, but it is NECESSARY.

Two Dianes!?!?

Great reference! PKD is the amazing at using a throw away line to totally whack out the world building in his novels.

As an atheist I feel the questions of god and faith are very important to humanity. Questioning man's place in the universe is most likely essential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. I believe the characters in Star Trek's know this and in some ways view their very mission to explore the unknown as a sort of
