For "Angel," how about "I Will Remember You"? We saw it in our own reality, and then it was wiped out and the day started over with different results, so Angel and Buffy's day in the sun and bed basically became an alternate reality
I assume someone has mentioned this already, but Angel was supposed to be killed off during the first season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but survived long enough to get his own spin-off, which lasted five seasons. Not bad for a throwaway character!
It's a shame really . . . this new band has more ingenuity in their first two songs than Bieber has demonstrated in his whole career and could really make good use of that trophy: http://the-temp-agency.com/…
One last list. I'm definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one, but there are still a lot of great films here and I've expanded it to cover the New Cult Canon era. Some of these are questionable, but so what. Danny Peary and Scott Tobias both included titles that were open to debate as to whether they…
I wish! I've seen about 358 at various times during my life, although there are a few of these I own on DVD that I just haven't watched yet. I've been a huge fan of cult films ever since I read Danny Peary's first book, and I've done enough research on the subject to be able to put together a fairly credible list. Of…
A few more:
I'm heartbroken that it's all over, but I suppose all good things must come to an end. Having read your heartfelt tribute to Roger Ebert, I have to wonder if his passing had any influence on your decision to leave the A.V. Club. Your departure does seem rather sudden considering you still had two more films lined up…
It's not necessarily my favorite ("Once More, With Feeling" takes that honor), but it's the one I've shown to a few friends to prove how unique the show could be. That and the double-feature of "The Wish" and "Doppelgangland." "Primeval" was very unsatisfying for me, so I was quite happy that the season ended with…
Yeah, I think the real miracle of "The Room" is how so much can be so wrong and yet somehow be so right. The other example of that that I can think of is The Shaggs' "Philosophy of the World." It somehow works (for me, anyway) in spite of how incompetent the band was at the time it was recorded.
Wow, there's a lot! For films that I'd like to see released on DVD, there's "High Tide" with a remarkable performance by Judy Davis; "Shock! Shock! Shock!," which quite likely served as an inspiration for "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra"; "Big Thumbs," a porn comedy with Jamie Gillis and the Miracle Whip guy; and "That…
And not that it matters, but Amanda Bynes was always "The Cute But Annoying Chick" when I watched her on "What I Like About You." Hey, every generation has gotta have at least one!
Ever since Giovanni Ribisi appeared in an episode of "The X-Files" back in 1995, I've been referring to him as "That Creepy Guy." He made quite an impression on me thanks to that guest spot, but I doubt an Oscar nomination is in his future.
For those who knew Arch Hall Jr. for his all-American teen roles, "The Sadist" might come as a bit of a shock.

Let me put it this way: In the first movie, David Niven had top billing, Clouseau was married, and Kato and Dreyfus were nowhere to be seen. Does THAT sound like a Pink Panther film to you?

Ah, but the Pink Panther movies we know and love didn't really start until "A Shot in the Dark," which was the second in the series, so I agree that "The Pink Panther" didn't live up to its opening sequence.

For me, some of the songs on Joni Mitchell's "Blue" (particularly "The Last Time I Saw Richard") get to me. And I completely lost it the first time I heard The Flaming Lips' "Spiderbite Song" while driving to L.A. years ago. Damn near had to pull over!
