This is one of the few shows where I watch the entire opening.  Something about the theme song just perfectly sets the mood for the show.  Firefly, Mad Men, Parks & Rec and Community are all in that same company.

Both times I've had surgery (replacement of ACLs in both knees! yay!) I've woken up as they were pulling the breathing tube out of my throat, so my first thought both times was "hey what *VOMIT*"

Even if it was justified, Phil would take offense at Tony coming after one of his guys.  Phil would say that Tony should have brought it directly to him and then had Phil handle it.

I agree that Tony was getting through to AJ by smashing the windshield, but even so it was scary.  Tony wanted to give AJ a glimpse of who he was, a very scary man.  It was a controlled escalation and a demonstration of power.  If I were AJ I'd have been terrified by it.

After a smirk like that you have to punish him, or else he'll see and know that you're totally powerless.  I forget when it was, but don't Tony and Carmela talk at some point about how they have to be very careful about punishment or else their kids will realize they're powerless?

I'm still waiting for Apartment 23 to really live up to its potential.  I like it, but it's not on the same level as Happy Endings and New Girl (Happy Endings, in my mind, deserves to be up there with Parks & Rec and Community).

The series did a great job of pushing that inner turmoil, which I'd actually say wasn't very well done in the book.  The show was very informed by ADWD (certainly for the better) with REDACTED (I'll play along).
