Characters aren't killed because the actor is too expensive.  Maybe the casting of the actor is a tipoff that someone would be killed, but my understanding (from a whole lot of people who never read the books) was that Sean Bean's casting made them think that he wouldn't be killed, precisely because he was a big name.

I don't know if it has ever been reviewed here, but another episode of Dead Author's Podcast dropped this week.  PFT's interviewed Aesop (Mark McConville), and it was incredibly hilarious.

I gave up on the Smodcast network a while back.  Not for any reason other than I just got bored with it.  It's all well and good, but they get very repetitive and as soon as you've listened to a few episodes, you get what they're doing and there's no more reason to listen.
