Well, loads of guest stars worked well for the The Simpsons.

Your coworker was talking to him/herself about Green Day?
I read that as "I fart thy father, Lukas."
I may be terrible but I found this part pretty funny:
So…Dan Harmon is Liz Lemon?
The whole second half of season 3 makes me embarrassed.
AS is a very different thing now than it used to be. I think a lot of people remember it being very stoner-ish and project that into the present. I don't watch AS anymore, but I definitely like the more straight-faced comedy stuff like Children's Hospital. Tim & Eric, though, ugh (TGTTM was great).
I'm going to be the grumpy old man and just say that, back in my day, AS was Space Ghost, Home Movies, reruns of Futurama, and Venture Brothers and dagnabbit that's the way we liked it.
Jimmy Kimmel is such a non-entity to me I'm genuinely surprised each time I find out he's still on TV, hosting on a major network no less. He'll always be one of the douchebags from The Man Show to me.
I like to think you buy tickets to shows, and as soon as the band starts playing you yell "NOOOOOOPE" and leave.
I watched the PJ20 documentary on Netflix last weekend. It served as my periodic 90s nostalgia trip, and also as a reminder that Yield is a pretty good album.
That's why commenting on this movie makes the most sense. The fact its reputation was based on being so well-researched and accurate means that it deserves more attention to its details than others.
Last time he was on The Daily Show he (correctly) pointed out that the CGI globe in the intro was spinning the wrong way. He was clearly joking with a "if you'd like to know more, science has lots of answers to questions like these…" wink to the audience.
@avclub-8ed16b12adc574bb06ec2cb2f5479952:disqus NDT is anything but humorless. He just has a perspective on popular culture, like literally everyone else does, and he's sharing it. What's wrong with that?
The gut response is to attack the messenger rather argue his factually correct points. I think he wins* this one, from a logical perspective.
If you want to avoid Breaking Bad spoilers, then avoiding the AV Club should have been the first thing you thought to do. Live and learn, friend.
I'm expecting an appearance by Spielberg's non-union Mexican equivalent in these comments, whoever he may be.
His name sounds good in your eeeeaaarrr
If you didn't like S1 then it's likely the show just isn't for you, but you should check out S2 anyway. There's only 8 episodes, and even if you don't like it, it's not a show that's painful to watch. Unless you really don't like yelling in your TV.
"an attempt to mix the crude humor of Family Guy with the (expired) emotional resonance and family focus of the Simpsons."
