I've seen Peter Murphy three times in medium-sized venues (1000-1500, maybe?) and the place was packed every time. I'd expect even more interest in Bauhaus.

A big advantage of the separation of church and state is that there's not really any question that American governments could ever compel any church or cleric to officiate a gay marriage, or to remain silent on issues of morality, or pretty much to do anything in their capacity as a religious figure. Literally the

Well, common English translations of the New Testament condemn homosexuality, but the case is somewhat less clear in the original texts.

She might still be, you know. I don't think every crazy-ass 'phobe is a self-hater, but there definitely are some genuine specimens out there, and she could be one.

That song works for me because it always makes me feel extremely nervous and worried, which I think is the point. I'm fine with unclear or stylized lyrics if they establish a mood.

Maybe Rossdale is just a really nice guy who's interesting to talk to, and maybe Albini doesn't like Surfer Rosa.

("Dope Show" [by Marilyn Manson]) or ("Change" by Deftones) is how I read it.

When I was a kid, me and my friends would make fun of Bush by just going "waaooooh" in the most mouth-flappingest, incoherent, mournful way possible.

This album was released in one of those hip cardboard folding CD cases, right? Like Pearl Jam's No Code? I remember having this album (although I don't think I bought it), and it always stood out to me because it didn't fit quite right in the shelf.

Yeah, I remember every one of those songs from being a kid listening to alternative format radio. Immediately familiar.

Isn't that Mumford and Sons song like three years old at this point? Or do they just keep releasing the same song?

This is not nearly as terrible as the headline makes it sound. Although I feel sorry for Peter Murphy.

@avclub-20064196f51f8b39c365b69a2591e02e:disqus I concur — I would gladly pay a monthly fee just for unlimited Simpsons access. There are few other shows I could say that of.

The two-prong issue with Nabin's reviews is that they tend to be just plot summaries and that he doesn't even do a careful job of that. For some shows, that's mediocre but unobjectionable, but it's hard to justify reviewing classic Simpsons episodes if you're not going to do some analysis.

I loved Brooks in The Captains. It felt like Shat and Brooks were having some kind of crazy-old-man-off.

I doubt you could ever get Avery Brooks on board with a DS9 revival, though. And it's not like it was killed before its time.

They should replace it with the shot in "Retreat To Move Forward" where she takes off her shirt.

ElDan takes literally ever opportunity to remind us how much he very much does not like that 30 Rock show one bit. Just like vicksisamonster!

Drinking songs definitely do not have to be about drinking. They can also be about fucking, or about really goofy jokes that seem hilarious when you're drunk, or how worthless it is to be alive.

Now that I'm reminded of it I remember the character she plays, but I had no idea she was someone I was supposed to recognize. (Of course, I thought the same about Heath Ledger, who I know as "that guy from
