"Didn't We Deserve A Look…" is one of those songs that always feels shorter than it actually is, which is a feat considering what a minimalist song it is.

There's nothing in Bajoran culture that is that far out of the range of human cultures, though. Also, the Trill are Federation members, and the Bajorans aren't — it's not surprising that they broadly resemble the Federation humans we see.
If you read his columns, he seems to genuinely enjoy ICP. There's been a slow progression from that kind of ironic so-bad-it's-good enjoyment that is pretty much a less honest form of enjoyment. At this point, I don't think he could claim to not be an ICP fan with a straight face. He's a ballpoint pen tattoo and a few…
@avclub-92399b30096fc966aa817277948c535a:disqus He was probably like "what, this song is about CRYSTAL METH? GAME CHANGER"
So, there was some big to-do about George Jones I saw. I think it was a Kennedy Center thing on PBS. Five years ago, maybe. So they had on a whole bunch of today's country stars doing a tribute.
Make sure to mention "country girls" and, as a nod to the fact that it's the "modern days", make some sort of lewd reference to how nicely they wear their tight jeans and cowboy boots, or how good they look on your tractor OH MY GOD GET THAT SONG OUT OF MY HEEEEEAD
@avclub-73aaacf9803fed2a04f802f3f85225e5:disqus Vonnegut got away with a lot of stuff people shouldn't be able to get away with.
The best country songs are the ones about how country music sucks ("Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" etc.).
I think the surprise is that it was actually good? That song isn't that bad as far as '90s radio fodder goes.
First: ALRIGHT NABIN WE GET IT YOU'RE FASCINATED BY ICP PLEASE JUST DO A FAN TUMBLR AND MOVE ON
Well, Bajorans are the same way. They're humans with nose ridges. There's a number of "human but with [quirk]" races in Star Trek. Most of them are just in single episodes, but Bajorans and Trill are regulars.
You should read it as soon as possible.
"Comedy and serious existential crises are not a compatible mix."
Basic medicine of the type we see Bashir doing certainly doesn't look time-consuming — it's usually just "wave this blinking widget over the owie and it goes away" — and it's probably more entertaining than doing paperwork and research all the time.
Actually, it's kind of sad about that Worf thing. I just watched that episode ("The Next Phase", for those at home) the other night, and giving them the old computer is Riker's idea, not Worf's. Paraphrased:
Female Changeling: best villain in DS9. I love all of them, but that line by itself puts her in first place. It's chilling even now.
Oh, man, really?
Oh, Twin Peaks. That reminds me, you know that TNG episode where Picard becomes a god to those proto-Vulcans, and his prophet is Ray Wise? And there's a bit where he's going kind of batshit and threatening to shoot Picard with a bow?
How could someone who failed to include that dude with the awesome hair or "Push It To The Limit" in Safety Not Guaranteed have the temperament required to make a movie about giant dinosaurs? There seems to be a basic lack of compatibility here.
Or that time that, alone in my room, my blankets wrapped around my legs to restrain me and my pillow was pressed down on my head by an unseen force.
