I guess arguably it could be what's actually meant by taking the Lord's name in vain, and Christ had some things to say about the hypocrisy of certain people who pray in public, but… well, the idea of mortal sin is really a fairly late invention, being invented by St. Augustine in the 4th century.

The Protestant King James Bible is 66 separate books collected within a single cover. There's going to be some disagreement between texts written for different purposes, in different genres, hundreds of years apart.
