yes, cover it please
just watched it, and agree with this review. I didn't see the original pilot, and when I started this I wanted to hate it, recognized the buttons and cliches but came away ambivalent with a fairly strong desire to see a few more episodes.

yeah
stay classy, strong island.

the schizophrenia
that is induced when one takes the subway from Queens to Brooklyn is spectacular. you start out an awkward teen having a painful-yet-also-terribly-exciting life lesson that will change you for good, for about 20 minutes. Then someone is out to kill you through your cell phone (which is EXTRA

oh-dee-oh
dee-oat'nday boiling up our B.A.s!!!!

blingee
i clicked that link and then had a seizure.

i need mind/time/eye bleach. i read the whole damned thing waiting for some sort of twist or reveal like, but it never came. oh god, it never came.

iKandle?

yes. it's virtually bursting with adequatulence.

couldnt resist
a NewsRadio quote (slightly modified, but prolly still doesn't make much sense):

Nathan Rabin on Leonard Lopate
Hey NYers (and those who like to stream NPR): Mr. Rabin will be on the Leonard Lopate show today (July 23rd), if you care to listen. http://www.wnyc.org/shows/l…

I had the joy of living in the UK for two years where the good comedy telly is. I had many faves, a few of my tops were Boosh, The Smoking Room, Peep Show, and Green Wing. (also gained an obsession for Qi). Occasionally catch "That Mitchell and Webb Look" on BBC America, can't decide how I feel…

I love the duct-tape visual, an especially great continuation of Joe's obsession with duct tape (that he makes himself)

I'm with Balls's (Ballses? Ballses's?) initial statement. If it's not taking place in New York, than it doesn't exist. I thought everyone knew that standard.

Grant Morrison?
really? I'd like to see him do a Filth or Incredibles tv series instead.

shouldn't some sort of rip in the space-time continuum open up (if not some sort of twisted worm hole) when obviously blind, bullshit-swallowing, party-line following propagandists accuse everyone who doesn't think exactly like them propagandists? Does everyone have to piss on the grave of those who don't/didn't act

I like it
I do.

Are You Entirely Sure
that it's not Hugh Jackman who ends up discovering he's a fairy and sprouting wings? I'm just saying.

thanks, miller. It's definitely my favorite one of the 33 1/3rd book, which is a pretty stellar series itself. Glad to know someone else out there has read it and knew what I was on about.

This played x's three:
"Tom Cruise, he doesn't act anymore, he's on cruise control"
"a-ha-ha-ha-hah! I just made that up!!!"
