they sort of allude to it with a line in the post-Credits of Avengers about "Courting Death" i hope that's more than a nod to comics continuity and a set-up for cosmic entities like Death appearing in the MCU.

Now i really want to see either a super-cut of The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy or iron man, but with all the jokes taken out. i can actually see the opening scene of the first iron man being pretty dark without robert downey joking it up before the jeep is attacked.
