That routine really is a love letter to both Cosby and Pryor.

I always wondered if that conversation really happened or if Murphy made it up. Either way, it is pure joy, like so much of early Murphy. It's hard to imagine what he must seem like to those too young to have seen him fresh.

I watched GI Joe every day as a kid, and I also got very little out of this episode. It was like an orgy of nostalgia, but not in a good way.

Also, anyone who thinks metal could have existed without afro-american music is being wilfully ignorant.

I am a mechanical man
a mechanical man
and I do the best I can,
because I have my family

Closest thing to an apology I've ever seen from Whedon.

I'm surprised no Darkplace votes. My favorite is running with the baby from the exploding ambulance. That bit was referenced on Sanjay and Craig during the "rad surgeons" montage.

John From Cincinnati is the one for me. It's the only intro more than 30 seconds long that I sit through every time I watch. The constant trying and failing on the waves is part of what makes it. Everyone wipes out; now get out there.

For reasons which I don't quite understand, the above post is in the wrong article.

Aw crap. Posting comments is sometimes inexplicably complicated on this computer, and it opens a whole new AVC window for me which I then have to log into from scratch and then repost, even though I was already logged in to begin with. I guess you can take a guess where I meant for that comment to end up. Now I

I've always felt that "seven deadly sins" were a misnomer. Sin isn't
really about specific activities or types of activity; it's about
distraction which leads to habit and keeps you from fulfilling your
purpose, and keeps us from really knowing each other. If we could be
truly grateful of our indulgences, and share

Holy shit, I'm not sure how I lived through the 70's without seeing that.

I never gave him much thought before I saw him hosting SNL years ago, and he struck me as very good-natured and game, even though the sketches themselves weren't that strong.

I see Chase bank is a contender too, which is nice. Only time I dealt with them they offered me a special deal on "fraud protection," and like 15 minutes after I said no someone was paying their bills with my account.

I hope Sorbo made some money on this at least. Dude's lookin kinda thin.

New York's alright, if you like saxophones.

Be careful. If she's old enough to realize her parents are full of shit (and almost all of us are) that stuff can backfire on you. My kid's pick of music from our collection has been just awesome, and I wonder what will happen when she gets to the age when she starts to hate our guts.

I am constantly surprised at what a nuisance bonus tracks can be on a reissue. I can barely listed to VU Fully Loaded, in spite of Loaded being one of my favorite albums. I still think the Rykodisc late 80's Rykodisc model is the best one for bringing LP's up to CD length. Put Apostrophe and Overnite Sensation

Also, his original songs are hilarious. Dare To Be Stupid. One More Minute. These won't get you into the Hall of Fame but they are pretty goddamn funny.

I've had difficulty with her "later" stuff as well. For me The Dreaming is about as good as it gets, but I like everything up through Hounds Of Love.
