ACDC, duh.

So what's Apatow calling this new trainwreck of his?

She looks a bit like Hedwig in that picture. I mean that in a good way.

Solve et coagula.

Solve et coagula.

Rough week for guys who were in bands who scared the shit out of the sixties.

I also didn't discover these guys until I was all grown up, and then I wondered how I could have grown up without them. So fundamental.

I had a similar experience with Xiu Xiu the Sent-Down Girl around the same time.

They didn't need to do that, because they had a smart kid to take his place, which was possibly more depressing.

That's always been a huge pet peeve of mine in time-travel stories, when the writer tries to build up his hero by giving him credit for other people's historic achievements, rather than write a character who actually achieves things. Takes me right out of the narrative and makes me want to hurt someone's feelings.

Remember when that question was all you needed as the basis of a sitcom?

Best thing about Mark of the Rani for me was that the Doctor really seemed to be getting his brains back.

Really appreciate CB spacing these Trial stories out like that. What an endurance test to do them consecutively.

My problem with Turlough was that I much preferred him in can-do mode. The guy could really be useful in a variety of environments, but the writers seemed bent on getting maximum mileage out of his inner turmoil at being a dark pawn, which for me it was an unwelcome distraction.

The directors obviously appreciated her style enough to have her always climbing ladders.

No one can shout like Brian Blessed.

Adric was at least well-matched for the Doctor he came in with, and didn't become a nuisance until Davidson took over. Plus he had skills that existed outside of his back-story. Mel was supposed to be a computer whiz but all I remember her doing was screaming.

For me the highlight was Hickey's reaction.

Though I wasn't crazy about the whole episode, the opening was fucking wonderful.

Epimetheus.
