I loved when she listed a bunch of nominees from all over the USA and from abroad. And you could see each person was thrilled to be namechecked by Meryl. Like, "Meryl Streep knows who I am and where I was born and raised!"

Omg, I can't believe he's Cappie from Greek! I should have recognised him but didn't.

But he's already being promoted as Dorothy's love interest!

Lucas sure showed that old lady, huh? I like the idea that Dorothy helping him and the child prisoner, out of simple human compassion, may have been grave errors.

Kareema really makes that shade of nail colour work for her. Anyway her wedding was lovely.

APB. Even the name is stupid.

Good show, great central character. When I watched the first couple of episodes I thought this was the sharpest thing I'd seen in ages; the main character's voice is so sure and dirty, and the asides to camera are perfect. But it's let down a little by the broader supporting characters.

Evie doesn't seem devastated about the break-up. I've been more dejected about missing lunch than Evie was about the absence of Xavier from her life.

The three movies I saw at the cinema that I found to be disappointing duds were Remainder, Viva, and The Jungle Book.

Happy Valley will make the end of year Best Ofs in the UK and Ireland though. I'm sure it will be in the Guardian's top five, for example, along with Planet Earth II.

What's missing is my favourite show of the year, Happy Valley, and my second fave, Underground!

This was one of my top shows of the year. Heartwrenching, horrifying and educational — for this European anyway. I had never seen a tv show about American slavery before, and hardly any films either. (Django Unchained might be the only one I'd seen at the time?) There's one particular character death in it that was

Right?! WTF is Brendan Gleeson doing here? I was just thinking this is not the movie where I'd expect to find a Fassbender/Glesson reunion… and then Michael K. Williams shows up. Truckloads of dosh is the only explanation, because the movie looks ridiculous.

Is it Tom Hardy though? I assumed it was Cillian Murphy. Calling all Hardy and Murphy superfans to distinguish whose pretty neck that is!

I loved Evelyn grilling Ginny and getting all gleeful about her moment with Mike. Mike freezing at the sight of Ginny and Rachel together was wonderful too. The show portrayed their awkwardness very well.

This site's "What's On Tonight" feature spoiled it for me.

If you're going to talk about teen movies from 2016 you can't leave out Nerve. That movie was an absolute pleasure. American Honey was cool and gorgeous. The Edge of Seventeen was really well-written. But I enjoyed Nerve more than either of them!

Space drama on HBO sounds great!

Scarlet Johansson.

You can cook anything badly, can't you? The way to fuck up Scramblers is to lose patience during cooking, whack up the heat, look at something on your phone, and forget about your eggs until it's already an omelette.
