Don't you love that ambiguity, though? I do.

No, the whole premise is only that he erroneously believes that!
"You were just an itch I needed to scratch"? Way to be a fucking asshole, Issa. That was brutal, and Daniel really didn't deserve it.
Molly totally gave Jared the Mr. Darcy "car-crash" proposal! I should have lowered my standards for you! I love it.
Deletesies.
I didn't expect Mike to decide to leave! And yeah, it is fucking early for a Mike/Ginny romance. It's not what I want to see and I'm afraid that once it starts, it will take over the show and never, ever die.
God no, neither the opening minutes nor the final minute is a highlight! Spoilers ahead:
I agree with your first paragraph; that was my understanding too. And I like your take, except I saw her relationships differently.
With regard to her first love, I saw no evidence of caving to social pressure, only a couple who wanted different things out of life and proved to be a bad match. Sometimes you have to…
Upvoted for unhappy baths.
Yeah, the story within the stoy is riveting. I was on the edge of my seat. But the story that frames it — what passes for 'reality' as opposed to fiction in the movie — is weak, and it gets progressively weaker as the film goes on. The contrast with the compelling 'fiction' storyline doesn't do it any favours either.…
Lovely ending.
I'd like to get to know more of the team in addition to Ginny, Mike and Blip. Duarte is a start. Oh and I'm liking Oscar more every week.
Beautiful, elegant, cool movie, with an underlying note of sadness. I loved how it looked and sounded. And I loved that the viewers felt a little of Louise and Ian's wonder. What a pleasure.
Good points!
My avclub account works again, yay! Goodbye, evil twin account. So, I have two quick questions about the movie:
Yeah, I still sometimes fall into the trap of expecting the hero to make all the correct choices because they're the hero, instead of simply expecting a heroic but flawed character. I have to remind myself that Louise isn't supposed to be perfect!
Well, I bought that he was blown away by Louise, given what he had seen her do. I was wowed by her too!
Yay! Someone else who watched that Upstairs Downstairs! Wasn't she fantastic in it? The most compelling and impossible character, Persie was my fave.
Lol, you're right, no one else speaks to or even sees Rita Wilson.
