What exactly does that have to do with her constant derailment, inability to understand basic plot points of any movie, participation in maybe 1/4 of the show at this point, and general unfunniness?

Ah, East of Eden. That book is super-flawed, yet still a joy to read.
I stopped listening to June episodes because I think she might have some undiagnosed mental illness issues.
April is cool. I found out about it from her guest spots on the Dana Gould Hour. I'd recommend it. Jimmy Pardo and PFT are on there a couple times each, and they're fun episodes.
I stopped the podcast about halfway through and tried to watch the movie (it's on hulu and youtube), and then I stopped myself. "What the fuck are you doing?"
Yeah. I like Hodgman and appreciate that he guested again, but that was just too much.
I just kind of disengaged. It made me angry, but poking the hive and arguing would have just been actual (ugh) mansplaining.
I don't think it takes that long to switch to an anime avatar.
I'm still just delighted that we got a new episode, even if it was a "finale." Been like two years, right? Great ep.
Seconded on the "losing all meaning" thing. I was attacked for mansplaining recently on facebook by a (mentally imbalanced, I would later discover) person for this a while back. She made an argument on a friend's post, and I basically responded with "yeah, you're right. You're also right for these other reasons…"…
And nothing you say is particularly controversial. But in 2017 that would seem to make you a lightning rod for these types.
Polanski fled the jurisdiction. Judges are not obliged to accept deals, and if the sentence the judge wanted was within the permissible range of punishment for an admitted child rapist, what Polanski is "willing to do" counts for shit.
Good point. I like Nolan, but my main problem with Akira is that you can hear the character's dialogue. Distracting!
I don't want to see an Akira remake, but you'd rather see him make a Marvel movie? Does every breakout director have to be immediately sucked into the comic book machine? I like Jordan Peele, and I like a handful of the Marvel movies, but this guy achieved success with a new, original property, and maybe it could be a…
When they're on, they're really on. But sometimes they just put out a dud, and they're way too prolific to keep up with. I'd blame Conor Lostowa (sp?), as he's the head writer, and is not nearly as funny as anyone on the MST3K staff.
I swear somebody leaked a cam shot of the trailer several months ago. Did I dream that?
Agreed. I like Hodgman, but I was listening to the end of it this morning and just saying to myself, "dude…ENOUGH!"
I think it's just getting older more than anything. I still love absurdist comedy, but the idea of actual absurdism has been so ingrained in our culture at this point it's lost its lustre.
