I grew up reading Mark Waid's Flash run, so I'm sympathetic. On the other hand, I think Johns did really good work with bringing Barry back into the DCU, the travesty which was Flashpoint aside.

For a split second, I actually thought that might have been Death.

Can't make out the first word, but if I read the last three words correctly, they mean "give(s) me wings" or "gave me wings".

Same here. Of all the horrible shit that's happened on GOT, that was the only thing that's actually horrified me while I was watching it.

Does "Amy's Choice" really count? When he "died" there, it struck me as obvious that Rory wasn't actually dead.

The double gut punch of Rory's death (when we all thought he'd actually stay dead) and Amy forgetting about him elevated its quality. Otherwise, I would probably agree.

You saw the Slitheen episodes in season one and didn't think they were bad? I can't wrap my head around that.

Despite preferring Moffat to Davies, I will admit that it has been diminishing returns for Moffat's tenure (more or less; "The Day of the Doctor" and "The Time of the Doctor" were series high points by my lights). Regardless, I'm holding out hope for season eight. I'm hoping that "Deep Breath" will be to Capaldi like

Season five of the current series is one of the best Doctor Who seasons ever, even counting the old series. "The Pandorica Opens" and "The Big Bang" still blow me away every time I watch them.

Might be, but I'm thinking that's a long shot. The only thing that stands out as a good reason to think that is a. the character is a woman, and b. they haven't reintroduced the Rani in the current series. But neither seems like a particularly good reason to think she's the Rani.

What are you talking about? "Chosen" is way better than "Prophecy Girl".

For the most part, I like him as a person (insofar as his public persona is indicative of who he actually is). That being said, I think he's good at surrounding himself with funny people and interacting with them in a way that yields comedy despite the fact that I think he's kind of mediocre as a comedian himself.

It's the hazard of getting a large group of people together around a cause/ideology. By and large, some of them will be great people, some will be good overall, some will be middling and a vocal minority will be outright shitheads

Wouldn't a Virgin of Guadalupe tattoo for Jesus just be a really elaborate "mom" tattoo?

He was an old school catholic. He wasn't particularly pleased with some of the consequences of Vatican II. For example, he was pissed when they introduced the English language Mass in the 70's.

If I remember correctly, the Giles killing came after the Slayer bedding. Also, Angel was possessed at the time.

Add the "Defender of the Faith" title, and you'd be set.

You might be reading too much into the look. From what I've read in "A Dance with Dragons" (I'll admit that I haven't finished it yet), that certain person is interested in Jon for other reasons.

On average, it's more like a little over 3 years. There was only 1 year between *A Clash of Kings* and *A Storm of Swords*.
