And heeeeeeere come the pretzels.
And heeeeeeere come the pretzels.
In a way, they're both winners. But in another, more accurate way, Futurama is the winner.
Yeah, it didn't help that the films (although Beyond was an improvement) were written more like fan-fiction than episodes of the show; it read more like a series of references and nods rather than works on their own. So when Pine finally did put on his "Kirk loves the ship and his crew" act, it was a formal…

I still like the title a lot, shame it's as if the filmmakers came up with it first, and then had to write a film around it.
Would like to see this title structure repeated though. This summer, it's The Actuary's Bailiff!
"Damn, her science is too tight!"
Count me as a rube, full stop. I think they're thematically satisfying on two levels. One, the idea that the characters are blinking in and out of existence like film frames heightens the theatricality of the effect (like the other manual/physical techniques). And two, the idea that someone "blinks" out of phases is…
This sentence is like that Vince McMahon gif where he gets more and more rapturously ecstatic…but in reverse.
"What happens if I watch this show?"
"It will be extremely painful……for you."

Chris Pine was a real delight, once again. Every one of his line deliveries was fabulous; plus I liked how he went from Bret Michaels to Adam Duritz in ten years.
Is the Pope a Scientologist?*
*don't answer that, I don't want us both to get sued.
I agree! The first time I saw it, it was on mute at a bar, and I pretty much got the story. Subsequent viewings have confirmed—it's a blast, well directed, well edited, well acted.
Yeah, I thought there might be more of it, like when the barkeep looked back at her, she would appear more aghast at the carnage. But that's why I'm thinking she's going to end up in a confrontation sooner rather than later.
It's cool, he's going to wake up in a second and start the stunt all over again.
I have a bad feeling that Sarah intended to be caught red-handed (or open-faced?) in order to get thrown into the clink with Chad, Naido, and the unfortunate looking fellow. I trust that Andy believes he's doing the right thing putting her in the jail, but I don't trust the other forces at work.
in other news, Netflix subscriptions will now come with a free month's supply of red wine.
But in true Netflix fashion, you have to drink it all in one night.
Those appearance/disappearance shots have been my favorite effects this season; for some reason I find them incredibly affecting and effective.
I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that the face of a car franchise is named VIN Diesel.
