I loved the Lost finale, especially the end, from the point that Christian showed up. I thought it was beautiful. And it made sense. It wasn’t ambiguous at all, and I thought it wrapped things up very nicely. Sure, there were plenty of unanswered deep-lore questions, but that’s more of a complaint about the show and

I’m the rare person who enjoys the Lost finale, but I understand the people who hate it. It’s unsatisfying if you wanted answers, but it was extremely emotional and I love it.

“The wave returns to the ocean.”

The rumor is they are not tearing it down and just turning it into an interactive experience that any guest can go pay to do at far less of an expenses. It just won’t be a full service hotel that needs 24x7 staffing

Best Springsteen reference in a Hold Steady song: “Tramps like us and we like them.” I kind of miss Mike Doughty. I downloaded several of his concerts from the Internet Music Archive. His solo songs were really good and he was funny as hell on stage.

Yep plus they can get their food like regular people rather than as a handout.  Like I told her, treat people like real people and they’ll act like real people.

Touche. All this conversation has me eyeing our bar cart for some refreshment a bit later. I just finished the last of a bottle of Old Fashioned I mixed up last fall. Pretty tasty. Easy to make too.

I don’t want to watch the whole thing but I’ve replayed that scene of the Fascist’s death (“Your son will never know your name!”) over and over again.

Guillermo del Toro’s affinity for outrageous violence works really well in Pan’s Labyrinth, but it’s a bit confusing in Crimson Peak. Admittedly, I wasn’t expecting an elaborate giallo-style murder in the first act of that movie, but I don’t know if the surprise and the abrupt shift in tone were ends in themselves...

There was definitely one in Vegas and one in LA a long time ago. I’m not sure if they’re both still there.

I’ve not heard of any of these places.

I’m sad to hear it. Archer has had plenty of episodes that were forgettable at best (the “dream seasons”, big chunks of seasons 6 and 7, etc), but the good episodes were and are really good - and the show finally started getting good again in the past two seasons.

I would add the Momofuku and Kogi products. Both are awesome and I believe only available nationwide at Target.

We used to go quite a bit in my early 20's as there’s a lot to do. My ex-gf used to tell me they would go in high school because the bartenders were a bit lax on ID checks.

I’m a little side-eyeing that deli meat tip because bringing your own packaging for the deli meat seems sus.”

“Punching up” as in “punching up a script”, what she claims to have done with the original script for Wednesday.

“There is no feud - we have no relationship” is the most perfect things I’ve read this week.

And Elizabeth Taylor can go to hell!

My problem with these remakes isn’t that they’re “ruining my childhood”. It’s just that every single one of them seems utterly unnecessary from a creative standpoint. I know every big movie exists to make money. But please, at least try to give me the illusion that an artistic vision was involved.

And, The AV Club used to employ writers, who got replaced by cheaper people with...
