I like junk food as much as the next person, I really try not to pass moral judgment on food, but pretzel + cheese + more cheese + pepperoni + salt ... whew.

I don’t understand why they went with cupcake when “muffin” is right there and less evocative of sweets.

So in a few years we can expect an Illinois BIPA settlement check for this, then? Cool.

Yeah the nitro thing is a whole different beast - it’s a play off nitrogen beers.

Oh come on. Before Neil Flynn was on The Middle he was the Janitor on Scrubs, another Bill Lawrence show.

Over Christmas I baked some cookies from a recipe in Delish. And man. It did include weights, and maybe (maybe!) that was my problem, because I didn’t weigh the flour. But it called for 2 sticks of butter and 3 cups of flour and that was too much flour. I should have stopped at 2 1/2 cups, but instead I got dough the

That’s a solid idea, unfortunately I don’t really have the drawer space to spare and most of the things in the drawer wouldn’t fit well in the cabinet.

What are you “oh boy”-ing? That’s one of the reasons I support Penzeys! He’s right! And I read most of their emails and enjoy them!

Good to know, I just didn’t want to make that assumption because I haven’t personally checked it :)

I bought a little shelf for my spice cabinet which has helped but I definitely have trouble keeping track of all of them sometimes! Oh well, not a bad problem to have.

Meh. I have nothing against McCormick, but I primarily buy either Penzey’s (much fresher) or the cheaper spices in the “ethnic” aisle for specialty stuff.

You may find it improbable, but lactose isn’t always the problem. I have several vegan friends and one with a milk allergy (not lactose, milk proteins) who avoid dairy-based chocolate. And sure, the amount of milk protein in a Reese’s cup may be minimal, but it’s not your call whether it will cause problems or not, is

We actually have a friend who can’t eat gluten, dairy, corn or yeast. Not sure if these are gluten free but if so, they might be right up his alley.

OK, now you’re just being a disingenuous asshole.

Most mass market chocolate, especially milk chocolate, contains dairy. Surely you’re not that dense. It’s called milk chocolate for a reason.

She is gorgeous, and it drives me a little crazy because she’s “Hollywood fat” which is like a size 6? with a little tummy maybe, god forbid? And meanwhile us actually average-sized women are doomed.

Same here - the Brookfield Zoo just outside of Chicago has giraffe feedings.

See, I love peanut butter pie, but the Amish style - which isn’t actually super peanutbuttery. It’s a vanilla creme anglais/custard with a peanut butter topping. And now I want some.

They are not dramatically different, but have a somewhat smaller menu and, from what I’ve seen, don’t have an oven so you can’t get any food that would typically be heated - just a selection of pastry.

Also, I reuse a sheet for as long as I’m baking cookies, but after that, into the trash.
