Unless you’re a light fixture, I think you mean pedant.

I was thinking that, and Portillo’s is expanding nationally, so... good luck!

We like Gullivers a lot, but be aware that their crust is a little breadier style as opposed to, say, Lou’s where it’s more ...pastry? crackery? It is where the legendary Burt Katz got his start.

If the toppings slide off your middle pieces, it might be low-fat/low-quality cheese (which is harder to bite through) or too much sauce.

I mean, I genuinely found it funny as a kid and again when I watched reruns in my 20s. But obviously everyone has different senses of humor.

In the 80s (at which point I was a child) he appealed to white people who wanted to see themselves as open-minded because it was allllll about the respectability politics. And I will grant you that there was a lot of talent and some very funny stuff on The Cosby Show; it’s a damn shame it got ruined. But yes, going

It’s less the sushi rice and more the biting through a piece of fish cleanly that I’d be concerned about.

Just seems like, yeah, you’d need a knife or something to separate the fish pieces, because with sushi you usually put the whole thing in your mouth - and taking a bite out of the side seems precarious

a) how the heck do you eat that sushi donut??

Just realized this post is a year old! But yes, I agree, embrace the gross old pan.

One of the biggest national suppliers of a seafood, including sushi-grade fish, is True World Foods, which is owned by the Moonies (Unification Church). Really. It’s kinda wild. International Lobster is a subsidiary.

everything Geena Davis relates, I can just picture Murray doing/saying, because that’s more or less the character he’s played in Scrooged, Groundhog Day, and countless others.

on one hand I get it.... on the other hand, I don’t want so much crap on my pizza that the crust gets soggy or I can’t pick it up with one hand.

They are some of the best frozen pizza out there, and you don’t need THAT much pepperoni...

If you have a properly ventilated exhaust fan, running that while cooking helps reduce the risks a lot. However, most people don’t do that (myself included tbh).

Yeah, it has lost some luster since the takeover.

Our local Mariano’s (bought by Kroger in 2015) has a salad bar, pizza, sub and sushi, plus a bar, a smoothie station and a Starbucks. Oh, and gelato. So you can already get a quick meal or snack or glass of wine before/while/after you shop.

Wisconsin does make a weird Old Fashioned but in general I agree - simple syrup, bitters, bourbon and a piece or two of fruit is not complicated. You can even leave the fruit out if you wish.

I meant when they make the iced coffee, they pour hot coffee over the ice cubes. I have no idea what they use to make the ice cubes, though my guess is that it’s probably also hot brewed coffee that’s cooled.

I am not a diehard Starbucks fan, but I average 3-4 visits a month, and most often use the app to order ahead so I can grab my drink on my way to work. People also sometimes give me Starbucks gift cards, so it’s easy to load them into the app. And then I get my free birthday drink. I guess I’m just enough of a “user”
