I'm not objecting to the ventures. I'm objecting to breathless puff pieces that try to make it sound like even the urinals in Pixar's office are sprinkled with magical fairy dust.

This interview reminds me of why I loathe Pixar's PR machine in direct proportion to how much I love their movies. Whenever they talk about their story process, my smarmy douche-o-meter goes haywire.

Just saw this movie, and headed over here to see if anyone else was as perplexed as I was. I enjoyed it, but it's one of those films that immediately stopped making sense as soon as the lights came up. It's not clear why bad guy was trying to kill good guy, but really it's not clear why bad guy did any of the things…
True, not-at-all-cool story, bro. My girlfriend-at-the-time and I once went to see a couples counselor, not because our relationship was in any particularly dire place, but because we had a specific issue* that was tricky to resolve, and we thought we'd be open and proactive and bring in a professional to help us sort…

I guess I'm betraying my age (fuck you, age), but I used to look forward to watching the Simpsons shorts on the Tracy Ullman show because it was a kick to see an animated series from the genius behind the Life in Hell comics. So I guess what I'm saying is, at least one person had heard of the strip.

Yeah, what the hell? The clear message of one of those documentaries on stand-up (I can't remember which one) is that the overriding ambition of almost every comic is to end up on television, preferably as the put-upon dad in a sitcom that gets renewed season after season in spite of critical loathing.

@avclub-3f0120c8dcf9d18404640edbed84e57d:disqus I agree with all those words you say in the order you say them, and yet…My Little Pony? I don't really understand that I live in a world where this is a thing. I mean, I've never seen the show, so I know not whereof I speak, but this was just a piece of hokey trash…

Is there a way to bestow a thousand likes upon this entire thread, and then have this become the actual Robocop script?
