I've also been watching the 5A blu-rays in advance of the new season.  There is a truly horrifying extended scene for episode 2 that pushed me back into my couch cushions.  It involves the closing scene of Walt crawling into bed with Skyler.  That…was a smart edit.

I think they've fixed Tara.  She can't be a victim any more now that she's a kick-ass vampire.

Pay $8 for a month's worth of streaming on Netflix and watch it all there.  It's 54 episodes, but you won't be able to stop yourself.

I'll agree that by including the connective tissue of the deposition, that they've improved on the insane time-jumping of the first season.

Trust in the guy who wrote The Social Network and trust in HBO, primarily.  The faint hope that it might one day be good.  Conversation here.

Whew, Maggie didn't get raped.  Just a little kid died.  That's a relief.

That is an overstatement, but still, a solid B based on the strength of its greatest scenes.

In the penultimate episode last season, after Maggie's friend's store gets vandalized, there's a shot of Will walking through smoke or steam. At night.  And Will's wearing a leather jacket.  It's a shot for the ages.

Well, she's yet another example of a woman being taught/lectured to by a man.  Part of her character development was her being established as a blogger who focuses on women's issues.  The show follows that tidbit up by showing that she is completely unaware of Romeny's stated desire to overturn Roe v. Wade, and has to

I do wish the specifics behind Genoa were more believable (your examples are all better), but I gotta admit, I am interested in how it all falls apart.

Just before that scene, the Newsroom legitimately made me laugh with Will in the background during Mac and Neil's discussion in her office.  That's a good joke.  Then, Don fell out of his chair twice and that goodwill vanished in a puff of smoke, much like the kind Will walked through slowly, which was the last time

Werewolves are famous participants in the airport sex scene.

Don't complain when a character dies on True Blood.  If it was spontaneous combustion out of nowhere with no follow-up, I'd accept it because at least there's one less character.

A totally acceptable pick.  Probably in my top 5

Of course.  Audiard could've picked any song and whichever song he picked would be elevated by the strength of the scene.  From now on, I won't be able to hear Firework and not be reminded of one of my favorite film scenes from last year.  Firework's in Madagascar 3, too, and it worked for me there as well, again

Brian Posehn has clearly never seen Rust and Bone, or this song would make him collapse into an emotional mess.

Aww, I absolutely bought Piper abandoning the phone call to chase the chicken.  While she does want to build her business long-term, at that moment, she sees the prospect of recapturing her lost credibility and endearing herself to some faction of the prison, likely Red's.  It's a fundamentally selfish decision, in

Was Bolonium on the periodic table?

Also Roger Sterling.

Can't speak for others, but she gets a lifetime pass from me for her work on In Treatment.
