Kinda weird to pull a screenshot from the 'Next Week On' preview, but whatever…

I haven't watched SNL regularly in more than a decade, but I have caught the 'Will Ferrell sings a Billy Joel song backed up by random celebrities who know how to play instruments for some reason' skit, and found it oddly beautiful.  Glad to see it included.

I believe that was a backyard UFC-style throwdown, which sounds totally not surprising anywhere in Kentucky.

I'm betting there'll be a multi-episode arc in which Boyd entraps him in some way.  Maybe the sheriff kills himself at the end of it.  There's so many tantalizing possibilities laid out between tonight and last week, that could be just a solid D plot.

My TV Tuesday's packed, too, but at least Parenthood ends after next week, freeing up a good chunk.

Anyone can shoot a person.  It takes a classy sum-bitch to whip out a fingerprint-wiping handkerchief with that kind of flourish.

I liked her here.  It's good to know she has another setting beyond unbearable.

This is the best start Justified's gotten off to in its history.  No procedural episodes, which while often very good, can't hold up to the show's serialized elements.  I have never been so excited to see what comes next after just two episodes.

Pervert!  Quit perving on me, pervert!

Good to see Blazanov finally got a big tip from George Hearst, allowing him to invest in some kind of equine semen consortium.

Also a national treasure.

The crushing sadness of In the Loop is most of the reason why I love it.  In that kind of environment, all you can do short of killing yourself is make hilarious threats to a person's butthole.  There's some of that in Veep, but not quite enough for my taste.

Saw a couple recent movies this weekend.  Caught Silver Linings Playbook today and it was much better than I thought it would be.  I expected it to be funny, but I don't think I laughed once.  To its credit, it was much sadder and straightforward than I thought it would be.  All four main actors are deserving of their

Live-blogging an awards show just seems weird.  This is the exact scenario DVR's were intended for.

You could say something similar about Mickey Rourke and the Wrestler, which I'd call one of the best performances in recent years.

That sucks you have to have that argument with your friend.  Homeopathy is in the bottom rung of alternative medicine.  Any kindergartner knows that water molecules have no memory.  Circular container into a square pan, and such.

The sound work in DKR was so bad, I missed 10-20% of the dialogue over either the soundtrack or stuff going on in the background.
Although I haven't talked to anyone that had the same problem, so off to the ENT.

Even if I didn't like the cinematography in Skyfall, which I loved, I will always root for Deakins.  Assassination of Jesse James earned him a lifetime pass.

Ably played by Bill Paxton!

Midwifery is one thing.  Waving your hands over a person's body and expecting that to do something is another.
