Of the show's many, many problems, the fact it took this show seven episodes to get through the same amount of time as Breaking Bad's entire run is the most telling.  Sorkin just wants to find the most elaborate and unnecessary way possible to comment on the events of the recent past, characters be damned.

I'd buy that if he didn't continue to bag on the flight attendant after she's been proven right and Don's been confronted by the pilots and as CFAmick stated above, he's presumably been flying regularly for the ten years since 9/11.
