She was a scavenger who grew up alone, fended for herself, and lived alone. I have zero problem believing she;d be fiercely independent.

Have the Jedi ever really done anything well? Their training methods are unfathomable, as a group they never seem to get the job done, and they're universally hunted and hated.

All of he new characters has motivations, and clear ones at that.

"Droid, Please". (New Candidate for worst line of dialogue in a SW film.)

Yup. We get subtitles for half the aliens, never for Chewie. Oh and, droids, being computers, should certainly have a "Galactic Basic" voice setting, no?

It was a great line, if only because it was one of the few times where a character was actually interacting with their surroundings. Everyone else takes everything that happens in stride, is never surprised, excited, or amused by anywhere they go.

I contend that they should not have revealed it until the bridge scene. I'm certain it was to avoid complaints of echoing the bridge in Empire, but they way they revealed in FA was weak and anti-climactic.

There were flashes of Han Solo, surrounded by a lot of Old Harrison Ford.

I've hear this "Rey's not an a actual character" a couple of times on here. WTF? She's arguably the most fleshed out character in the film.

Making her a Skywalker, while predictable, is inevitable. Star Wars IS the story of the Skywalkers. Always has been, always will be.

Could not agree with you less. I found Finn a total waste of time, an necessary character, while Rey was a joy to behold. I could have watched a movie JUST about her.

We'll know in a few years, but I betting you're very wrong.

Leia knew Obi-Wan. She was his only hope.

Whaaat? Rey has TONS of personality. She's independent, concerned with others, saavy with machines, and capable of being tough, frightened, and cheerful. How can you say she doesn;'t have any character?

The only 3D that jumped out was a shot of the Star Destroyer that seemed to jump out of the screen. Other than that, nothing.

Agree fully about Kylo, but I was enthralled with Rey. She's wonderful to watch. I could have done without Finn at all.

Only if they're separated someone else's dialogue.

We see a shot of her being left behind at like, age 5, though. And how would she not remember having force training?

More importantly, while most of the characters referred to Snoke as "he", Leia says "she". (Note, I saw it twice today and saw listening closely the second time. Second note: Carrie Fisher was botoxed to hell and back, might have just been her slurring.)

That apprentice also suddenly forgot that he could freeze people and cause them to fall asleep with a wave of his hand. I did like the pounding on his wound part though, that looked cool.
