That's a good question. I know he died when he was 47 and since you asked I decided to look myself. Here's what little I found on the matter.

I've always had a feeling that Terry Gilliam's Brazil was heavily inspired by 1984. I saw the movie and read 1984 around the same time (during W's first term) and the real-life parallels terrified me then, as they do now (*waves to NSA*).
The first 2/3rds of the book were fairly intriguing (and indicative of Murakami's standard tropes), but I felt it fell apart in the end. And IIRC, they were three separate books in Japan.
So those pigs weren't possessed, they just ran off a cliff to get away from Paula Deen!
Kate Beaton is the fucking best. I just wish she had more/better t-shirts/merch/books.
Murakami, while repetitive in his themes (in almost every one of his fucking novels) is a great read. If you liked The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle I'd highly recommend his short story collections as well.
A Clergyman's Daughter by George Orwell. It really hit home with me considering I lost my faith when I was a teenager and recently my father, who was a preacher most of my life had his own crisis of faith after being ousted from a church for supremely petty bureaucratic bullshit. Also, Orwell's novels other than 1984…
I'm infamous! I've arrived!!
Like @avclub-33c0b11e200dd2f9b60e169fe58b08cc:disqus said, the first third of the novel is a bit of a slog, but once it gets going there are few books that are such a delight as Infinite Jest.
Present.
I sit down when I pee!
That's why I loved the pure joy on Tim's face when he greets him at the end of B$M. I was really disappointed he didn't make it into the actual "film", but I was overjoyed at his appearance. I give T&E the benefit of the doubt.
I unironically love this guy.
Jon he does it!
♫ Smells like meat! Rotten meat! ♫
Spurs in seven, I hope.
There are dozens of us! DOZENS!!!
I always pictured the guidance counselor from Freaks & Geeks, but he would be far too tall to play Doc.
@avclub-a72c0e3de0939892ae7415470b5ff98b:disqus Just making a glib, pedantic and asinine comment purportedly trying to convey that the GoT season finale is next week. You have good taste in television shows though.
You're from the future?!
