I'm not a cherry beer aficionado, but I did taste the Ommegang Rosetta Kriek at a brewers' summit event about a month ago, and as with most things Ommegang it was unsurprisingly delicious and a nice change of pace from so many other breweries' offerings as, IIRC, it has ZERO IBUs. I love a hoppy IPA as much as the

I found him more tolerable on this episode than his first appearance, but yeah….uncomfortable is the right word.

"Can I just get one more, for me?"

…I never thought I'd say this, but can I go work now?

I always assumed that on the day Joan Cusack filmed the scene where she walks into the store just to yell "You Fucking Asshole!" to John Cusack then walk out, that Joan had to be like "I'm getting paid to scream at my brother - this is the life."

While cleaning out my home office last week, I found a CD-R mixtape a summer fling had made me about 15 years ago, with art and track listing written on it in different Sharpie colors.

    OPERA MAN: THE OPERA.

I remember Katie Holmes and Aaron Eckhart in many compromising positions, and her saying some fun things.

I know - the joke is that "God in Chicago" is literally a spoken word piece.

Downvoted for the "Threw in some Spoon, just in case I decide to go to that show as well" because I've always wanted to see Spoon live, but they've never played in close enough proximity to allow it to happen.

Still trying to digest the new Spoon and Laura Marling albums - I've enjoyed both but have only heard each one a few times.

I DID…I loved the experience the only other time I've been to Ommegang for a show, and I'd totally make the trek, but I already know I'm busy that week, plus with Solid Sound the following wknd I would have a hard time getting a hall pass to hit The Shins up, too.

I haven't listened to that interview (on my to-do) but hearing him in recent short interviews on radio or whatever, it seems like the band as a whole isn't up to the touring demands. Sounded like they'd still be functioning as a band but with more special event type shows (multi-night stands at places) than the

I wasn't there, but I downloaded the bootleg of that exact night! I don't typically go out of my way to find stuff like that, but I'm pretty sure THS Twitter or something shared the link to it. That seemed like a super fun show to go to.

And on that "God in Chicago" song, he didn't even TRY to sing!

Agree that as a whole it feels like none of these songs (of the 6 I've heard so far) would fit The Hold Steady mold, where there were at least a handful on each of the last two solo EP's that could have been retrofitted into that band's style (and I liked his 1st two solo EPs).

This is good news - I'm only half way through the album but am digging it so far. It seemed like the reviewer liked it a bit more than a "B"…read like a B+ to me.

I own the doc "Do You Believe In Miracels?" and it is awesome (not that the others you mentioned aren't).

Or Renee in just the Empire Records smock….

I love Go but it was so late in the decade and I didn't really come to it until 2000….it's absolutely of its era though.
