I could live with a solid 13, with enough of a heads-up given to the writing staff that they can wrap it up in that time. Given its subject matter and themes, this show would probably benefit from a limited run anyways.

I get the soldiers being more focused on the mutiny than on why the mutiny happened. The fact that the incineration of millions of people doesn't really feel concrete yet to the audience is somewhat troubling.

Definitely improved. We still need to get to know the characters better, but the plot was much more solid (none of Han Solo SEAL and Dichen Lachman randomly jetting off to the other end of the island for reasons passing understanding and less of Sophie doing… something) and the dialogue was far less clunky.

There's also hints of a much more interesting story being played out that these characters aren't diving into thus far. This show could use an A-grade conspiracy plot, and it could use it now with the way the ratings have been going. It seems like something they've been teasing us with so that they could dive into it…

Important to remember - the SEALs are decidedly not with the mutineers, which leaves them with submariners, who are unlikely to be too well-trained in this type of combat. Those who are are more likely to be loyal to the COB than the captain, presumably, making it risky to use them.
