I only take advantage of those opportunities when the monkey screams them at me.
You're too late, @avclub-ea4ae23776b72e0f3eec7de67170a53d:disqus ! Our evil plot to take over the world by confusing people over how to distinguish between a reptile and a lizard is already in motion!
On the other hand, liberals are apparently responsible for letting Scott McFarlane take over Sunday. I'm not feeling 100% proud of myself.
I like how the Canadians, in the face of societal breakdown, very politely stayed on their own side of the border (mostly) and had their own plots. I wonder if Canadian Revolution is more interesting.
Big fan of Parenthood - I was expecting someone to have snapped her up for a series lead after last season.

Yeah, I guess the fact that they've avoided the opposite side of the coin with Kate should have been a hint that they were thinking in this direction. She's a serious character, but she's not kneejerk opposed to anything 'fun'.

Carly Chaikin's done such a good job with what could have been a pretty thankless role.

Enjoyed how much heart they put into this episode - and they've earned it. The George-Tessa relationship has been really well developed since its early, often semi-uncomfortable fumblings. Not too many shows on right now that could play this absent parent plot straight as a continuing arc even with the comic zaniness…

Dalia not recognizing Tessa and just talking that way to a random busker is instant canon for me, though.

I think it's standard Dawson casting, although I do agree that the unusually small age gap between the actors may contribute to the incest-y vibe that hangs over some of the early episodes.

The plot jumps off the idea of Ben, BJ and Tommy throwing Kate the 21st birthday party she never had because of Maddie, and develops from there - and in some legitimately interesting ways. And you should watch it! I'm really getting into that show despite myself.
