With my objective hat on, I'd say that Obama will probably reap the benefit. He was aggressive enough to change the narrative of the race and he got some good TV-friendly soundbites.

Verlander is a beast.

Absolutely. There were definitely some soft spots - I expected him to leave a lot more blood on the ground with the Bush question, or at least have a much better one-liner prepared for what was a total hanging curve for him. But he found his groove in the late going, and he got some big hits in.

He's in a tough spot with that question, but his answer was just unbelievably awkwardly worded.

I thought Obama did a very good job tonight of finding spots to highlight Romney's flip-flops, and doing it in a way that Romney really couldn't respond.
