This has got to be the least original new show on TV this fall, and that's saying something. Not only was almost every single beat something you've seen almost word for word (and done better) in some other procedural, an alarming percentage of them were done together on one show - Trauma, which lasted 18 episodes and

Ugh. Now I'm thinking about the fact that The Chicago Code didn't survive. Thanks, @avclub-df80f70f60b1c678f8c91696f4a54f5f:disqus .

I don't know about ridiculously so, but I think the short lifespan of the series has definitely given it a hand up it didn't necessarily earn - people rate it so highly thinking about the potential that was wasted and not necessarily the actual show.

I only realized how good this episode was within the last few months, because I simply refused to watch it again. It was the only Community episode I hadn't seen more than once, but those kids were just so… ARGH. Went through it again and realized this was just me dealing with psychological trauma from high school,

Ugh. I don't know how I could have been disappointed by that show, because my expectations were really low. But I was.

Damian Lewis is the one who always gets me. I get surprised (and sad) all over again every time I hear that. Because, you know, all good things come from America. God Bless America and no place else.

Find your local campaign office and volunteer! Trust me, they are desperate for people right now, and it'll make you feel a lot better about the not voting thing.

Check out Nate Silver's blog (fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytim…). He makes a very compelling argument that while the race is back to being a dead heat, the likeliest outcome remains an Obama win - the electoral math is still just too tough for Romney, and a few polls are skewing perceptions right now. It might make you

Oh, Winston. I never know what's going on with you, but you make me laugh every time.

What bothers me is that twice in two scenes it seemed like they were going to acknowledge that this is a stupid storyline and back off from it - which has potential for Daphne, since the show hasn't really gotten into how bitter she must feel about how little she gets what she wants. Both times I bought it, and both

I'm hoping they have something planned for Travis. There actually seems to be some story there, and story that's likely to get the show back to what it does well.

And important, too, because while I liked Toby's scenes with Nikki, I'm not really attached to her yet. It's time for Toby to have some connection with characters on the show I care about again, and it's time for Emmett to have something to do other than mope about Bay.

@avclub-236e42b5af241c85d97910f5c1aa6107:disqus Todd's reviews in the late going last year were well worth the read even if they weren't worth actually watching the show for. I highly recommend them.

I am prepared to be disappointed, but Lincoln's story is fantastically compelling just on the facts alone, and it's got Daniel Day-Lewis. I'm in.

Truth fact: Whitney has exactly one dedicated fan. His name is Dave Keller, and he lives in Bakersfield, California where he works for a construction company. He has a girlfriend named Claire with whom he's talked about moving in but they're not sure they're ready, and last year he made her watch Whitney with him

You ever notice that in a whole bunch of interviews, his castmates make reference to how they're worried Jack Gleeson is going to get punched in the face on the street? And not just generally, they use some version of the phrase "punched in the face on the street." It makes me very nervous for Jack, who puts about 90%
