Well, to be honest, pest control purposes is one reason was got the new cat. Our previous awesome mouse/bird/rabbit/squirrel serial killer was eaten by something a few months back and my son's girlfriend's cat are utterly useless in that regard. Here's hoping that the new kitten is the same level of sociopathic

We got a new kitten yesterday. It cost $160 and that was from a shelter.

Anyone that says Ringo isn't a good drummer needs to listen to Tomorrow Never Knows. His drumming on that is perfect and perfectly weird.

I have a friend who's given a couple of lectures recently on that very subject (i.e., that Bathsheba Sherman was slandered by the Warrens and that the Warrens are pretty much scum.)

Don't think I've ever heard it on the radio, but Der Kommissar was on MTV constantly. It's also on 90% of the playlists that I've created.

Ooh, What You're Doing - neat choice. A perfect example of their early stuff, yet not overplayed like Hold Your Hand of Hard Day's Night.

Do you have any idea how angry Paul and the ghost of John get when someone says George wrote the best Beatles song? Show some respect!

I was going to make that comment, too.

I also considered this the greatest rock/pop song of all time in my younger days. And I also now think it doesn't even approach being the best Beatles song, which is, as everyone knows, Baby You're A Rich Man.

A friend of mine's band opened for Days of the New a couple of weeks ago. He was nervous that the show wasn't going to happen for a bit because Days almost broke up two weeks before the show. Did anyone realize that Days of the New hadn't broken up years ago? No, they did not.

Which is, of course, why I said, "If those poll results are accurate…" Note that this poll was done by the Pew Research Center, which doesn't strike me as an organization with a particular agenda, but anything is possible.

Yeah, Maher's opinion on this is at least partly based on a Pew poll, taken mostly in more liberal/secular Muslim countries, that claimed that a majority of people in those countries support the death penalty for things like, homosexuality, apostasy and creating images of the prophet. If those poll results are

For the record, I don't mean awesome, like neo-nazis are awesome, just that he was a dead ringer for Norton in the movie.

My brother just went to a Halloween party as Ed Norton from American History X. He looked so awesome that people made him go outside and reenact the curb stomping scene.

About 20 years ago, I was at a BB King show. It was a dinner and show thing, so I was close enough to the stage where I could have leaned back and put my feet up on the stage. I had my camera with me and at one point stood up in the aisle to get a straight-on pic of BB. As soon as I aimed the camera, he looked

Initially, I thought your "Me wish" referred to "What is this? 1985 Huslter?"

Hey, I did that once, too! And as a bonus, I ended up marrying one of them, so it was great way to cap off my single years.

On my brother's second date with his now-wife, after dinner she suggested that they do the tour of the Public Information Center at the Church of Scientology. "It'll be fun!" Apparently, it was more creepy than fun.

The sex crime laws in this country are fucked up. In my town, the sex offender registry tells me that there are 3 level 3 sex offenders in town. A level 3 offender is considered dangerous to the public and highly likely to offend again. All 3 of the offenders had committed crimes that were less then 10 years old.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's that way in MA, too — there was that thing years ago with one of the Kennedys banging the 16 year old baby sitter and there were never any charges filed. Though, I suppose that could have been Kennedy Privilege.
