I hate that we're the richest country in the history of the world and we base our health care on who can afford it. Hope the surgery goes well, at least.

I'm the opposite. I not only live in the same town, I live in the same house. I bought the place from my folks when they retired. It's on 9 acres with no neighbors (not really close, anyway) and is damned near perfect. (The property is anyway, the house has some issues, but don't they all?)

Summer Glau is a great choice. I didn't care for any of the books about his wife. The only interesting thing about them was the fact that the research on one of them (the Audubon one?) led to Preston's excellent (non-fiction) The Monster of Florence.

I thought that books got progressively better up to and including the Diogenes trilogy, then went downhill. The latest is better than the previous few, so far, but I'm only about halfway through it now. But, yeah, Smithback was terrible, though I think Margo is worse than Kelly. I still like Pendergast, Constance

His brother is named Diogenes.

I like it. I'm picturing a '70s grindhouse post-apocalyptic biker pic and frankly there aren't enough of those.

I fell asleep trying to watch Fury Road. Twice.

Rick Derringer himself did that to Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo. It's pretty sad.

I have a friend that lived alone for about 17 years. Now that he's living with someone he really has trouble with compromise and even just interacting the way couples do.

Our cat comes when we call him. He's not named Gershwin, though. Does it still count?

Gonna be an issue for Boston as well.

I saw an interview with his guitar tech once. He rarely even tunes the bottom neck, since apparently you can't reach it anyway.

I can't speak to Avatar, but the extended version of Terminator 2 is definitely a big improvement. With the added scenes, the movie makes more sense. Most of the time, I understand why deleted scenes got deleted. In T2's case, they should have been in the theatrical release.

Pillow mints and breakfast? I'm too cheap for the hotels that don't even have a coffee maker in the room.

The story read had her sleeping with Bowie in early '72, before she got together with Page. And lots of people think Bowie's eyes were different colors, because the condition he had caused his eyes to appear to be different colors.

I'm also too cheap. Pay for a hotel room just to have sex in it? That's crazy talk!

As someone that's raised two children to adulthood, let me just say that kids are gross.

Maybe it's because Bowie had sex with a 13 year old (probably more than one) and the letter writer is really the bad guy in this relationship?
OK, probably not. I'm just bummed out that I had to find out that Bowie had sex with a 13 year old (he was 26 at the time). Sure, lots of rock stars were doing that shit in

It's not that weird for really racist types, they'd consider Bowie a "race traitor" for marrying Iman even if they ignored or were unaware of his claim to bisexuality (which he later walked back).

When I visited years ago, I didn't go up in the arch, but I DID go to those strip clubs.
