My former sound man will occasionally ask me something like, "Do you remember that chick with the blue skirt that time at the Spotlight Lounge?" I'm like, "No, that was fucking 1993! What's wrong with you?" Of course, he was without a steady girlfriend from about 1993 until about 6 months ago.

My sister-in-law calls them "future-phones." She also complains that, since my brother drops his all the time, that he should get a "force field" case for his future-phone.

When I was 9, I took the receipt from some sneakers that I'd bought, went back to the store, got another pair of sneakers and "returned" them. I used the proceeds to buy the new-at-the-time single from Barry Manilow, 'Mandy' (I was 9, you're allowed to have shitty taste at 9).

His "Everybody Knows But Me" was on our set list regularly back in the day. Perhaps we'll bring it back at this week's open mic as a tribute.

Strip club with Skinny Pete. (Badger, not so much.)

I suppose my perspective is colored by the fact that most of the folks I'm referring to are in suburban or rural New England. Some of them even live in very art-friendly communities, it's just that there are simply not enough people in, say, Putnam CT to buy all the art that's created there.

It's not impossible to make a living at these things, but very few do because it involves a ton of hard work and even more luck. Talent is often optional - though obviously not in your parents' case, since as instructors, they'd certainly need ability.

But even with an arts scene, there's only so many slots for actors, painter, sculptors, etc. It's exceedingly difficult to earn a living doing art.

And before the nerds attack, yes I do know that it was his other hand, but my joke doesn't work that way.

Bran is the worst. I actually mourned Jamie's hand last season, because that was the hand that had pushed that boring little fuck out a window.

There's also the fact that regardless of the cost, the government will guaranty loans, so there's no incentive to keep costs low.

Well, yes and no. I know a bunch of people with fine arts degrees that have no hope of ever making a living based on their major - they simply aren't talented/lucky enough. And I've heard that the US graduates about 3 times as many student with degrees related to the performing arts than we do engineers and I'm

And if I'm reading your SG page right, we've got the same birthday (though mine occurred 20 years earlier)!

My wife and daughter were just saying the other day that everyone loves boobs - even gay men!

I'm betting Albert's last name is Gergich.

Terrible song or worst song ever written?

I called her Not-Maggie. But, yeah, two eps or so ago, she earned her own name.

I remember thinking that Just Push Play was the where the line was, but I recently listened to stuff off of Nine Lives and it is pretty dire.

I've got friend in CT that signed up on Jan 13 and still hasn't got coverage. They seem to be actively trying to make him give up trying. His girlfriend (in RI), signed up two and a half weeks ago and has is all set already.

Nah, they'll just rename it "Reagancare."
