Nice! I will pass that along.

"refer to each other by name" - scratch that - they call Boomer Boomer. And by the way, was it pretty clear that Boomer sided with Cavil because they have some kind of weird relationship/fling going on, or did I read too much into that?

BTW, the only reason I used the name Natalie is that's what they call her in the press - I don't know if Cylons ever refer to each other "by name." But I do remember that Gina Six picked up her name in the script as a play on what the fans of the original show were calling the new one - "Galactica In Name Only."

SYNAESTHETE
By the way, it was a little bit of a cheap shot to pick on Synaesthete's soundtrack when the game is a student project. It placed in IGF as well, and it's worth checking out:

RENEWAL
Word is the show will be renewed and come back this fall:

ARG
By the way, per BoingBoing, there's a new Terminator ARG. The site where it starts is here:

Well, I'm an adult and I loved it - it's cartoony, but never too cute or simplistic to turn off a mature player. I was ecstatic when I figured out how to get the four neighbors to their workplaces without letting them cross paths. And these puzzles are timeless - think of that episode of the British Office where

Many of the puzzles are pretty easy, and the ones that you're forced to solve to advance the plot tend to be easier than the "hidden" puzzles that you find by poking around the screen and looking in corners. You'll also probably have more hint coins than you need, so you'll always be able to get some tips - and I

This is a fun game, and some of the levels are really clever - the Arcade and Word levels are terrific. The demo is definitely worth trying. I was just disappointed that they didn't do more with it before they released it.

I liked Wonderfalls too. I guess I was trying to say that Wonderfalls embraced the concept wholeheartedly, and you were bewildered with the character, instead of by the character. I'm probably still not explaining this well.

SOUNDTRACK
BTW, over on his blog, Gus Mastrapa points out that if you play mp3's off an SD card, the same track tends to repeat again and again - to address this he posted some mini-mixes that string several songs together, and fit the gameplay:

LEVEL EDITOR
Shnoods, I didn't have a chance to play with the level editor - I usually don't try to tackle the editing or modding tools. I'll be interested to see if a community springs up around that.

ORANGE BOX
One point about why we covered Portal instead of the Orange Box - I can't speak for Gus, but when I originally reviewed it here I tackled it apart from the other titles because I didn't want to compromise the discussion of it. With such a short space, I'd rather give Portal the attention and discussion it

We only have 400 words, so we tend to keep it general. I iterated through a number of weaker areas of the game, but I don't have space to discuss some of the details you talk about.

FOR THE RECORD
I don't think of B- as a "negative" grade. At least for me, anything that's a B- or higher is usually worth playing. It reflects the fact that this game has a lot of strengths, but also a lot of shortcomings and flaws.

Seldom Posts, thanks for that insight - I never would have known from the hundreds of songs and books that talk about that legend what the hell this game was talking about.

Yeah, while we're all looking at that, you can all tell me which worked better. I wasn't totally happy with either of those.

Track Changes fails again.

IMPRESSIONISM
My bad - nice catch.

RE: POINTERS
Poyoyo and Artie, you're right, it's a bit of a sloppy analogy - especially because pointers in programming are one-way. I threw this in partly for fun, and partly 'cause this is how I always visualized pointers - the portal stores an address, and it lets you jump to a location. I always thought of them
