All I can say is, I had no problems like that. (If it had corrupted my save file I would've been really screwed - I didn't see any simple way to backup your progress or copy to a separate save.)

I played the Wii version. The handheld versions are substantially different from the console/PC. I'd like to get more of that info on the page (at least the version I reviewed), but keep in mind that in 400 words, we're not going to get into detailed platform-by-platform comparisons - just the highlights.
