It's tied with Rome for being the most expensive TV show of all time and has had such an absurdly horrific production schedule that Netflix literally just put out half the season because that's all they had that was done.

Maggie Q was busy with Nikita and Paula Patton was busy with her collapsing marriage.
She also wrote and directed Effie Gray, a movie that might qualify as one of the most boring pieces of art ever created.
I don't know, that first season of Robot did have a pretty large amount of Internet heat behind it, there was definitely a larger community talking about the show then I expected considering the channel and the premise.
Mr. Robot is a great example of a show that is both incredibly entertaining and a fascinating example of one man's ego being writ large over the screen. It's pretty rare for a show to crawl up this far up itself just two seasons in, even Kurt Sutter took 3 or 4 to really get up in there like Robot has.
The ratings are sinking for Season 2, calling it it hit is becoming more and more generous by the week.
Probably the biggest recent example of a show that went from the talk of the town to nearly forgotten within a couple of seasons.
They did it way worse with The Americans.
Morpheus is one lucky man.
I love how anytime Darabont or Jane or anyone who had a major hand in The Mist is asked about the film it they immediately go "pls watch the black & white version, pretty pls we swear it makes the film so much better."
"Why kill her off?"
What's even more amusing is how much Luke Mitchell looks like Jane's romance from S1 that she killed(Oliver? I think?)
Dowd seems to be a horror fan in general.
Even outside of the parody aspect, you can just enjoy it as a goofy comedy that's very much of its time. I mean there's certainly aspects that aren't s funny if you don't know the character(whipping out the entire ZORRO name on the wall gets me every time) but I think you can probably enjoy it just on its own.
Just don't take any aspect of it seriously.
If anyone wants some quality Anthony Dod Mantle work they should watch Our Kind Of Traitor.
I have literally no idea how this show could have five seasons of story in it, and I say this as a bag fan/defender of Season 2.
Stoker's was the kind of script that would only work in the hands of a director with a very specific wavelength. It's easy to just say Park made that entire project work on his own, but Miller's overheated gothic tone helped a lot.
I actually really enjoyed the first act or so of Tusk. It actually sold me on the bizarre weed-soaked dark comedy-horror he was going for. The entire scene where Justin Long is openly taking shit to Michael Parks in his own house and clearly unable to see just how fucking insane this old man is due to the thick layer…
Red State would have been genuinely good if it had an actual ending.
