@JSBrown I envy your 2010 if this is the year you "discover" the Silver Jews. Start from the very lo fi beginning (Dime Map, Arizona) and ride them through to the end because I think Lookout Mountain stacks up well with any of their earlier stuff, even American Water.

I really enjoy the AV Club inventories and this one was no exception. My question is the numbering, it obviously isn't chronological, or alphabetical, and I don't think it's a qualitative ranking (MMHI is funny but doesn't rank #2 ahead of Dick Van Dyke). Is the numbering just random?

I understand its inclusion, although it would have made more sense to me if they included a live set that included Chris Bell. For what it's worth, which may not be much, I've read several reviews saying that the live set is terrible and that Alex sounds perfunctory and uninterested.
