Good point. There is so much Freudian "it's all the mom's fault" in pop culture, your take would be a refreshing change. Sadly, I doubt that's the story they're telling.

For me, this version of Norma is working. I think that this version of the character is well-balanced between wanting to like her/root for her and wanting her to shut up. She's just likable enough that you get why Norman just doesn't say "Fuck this shit!", and leave.
I think we're all a little turned on by the monster face.
Brown's Lex Luthor is flawless.
Not to mention that Carnivàle would be the kind of show that could incorporate a years-long time gap into the story, as opposed to trying to pick right up right where we left off. I bet they could time-jump the story a good 5 years and it wouldn't hurt the arc too much at all.
This was my thought as well. They seem to be developing a small cache of characters that are friends and/or owe the Winchesters a favour: golem & co., witch, familiar, werewolf, vamp, prophet, angel, demon (assuming meg can come back), and, uh, veterinarian. Edited to add that we could technically include include a…
No, the two I had mentioned 'felt' like pilots to me. I didn't really consider the Judah Initiative (or the Men of Letters) as intentional/stealthy pilots, although there is nothing to stop them from spinning off into their own shows if the interest warranted.
This was the second episode this year that felt like an unofficial pilot
for a new CW show idea. The first was that Three's Company/Werewolves
mash-up. This one was some weird hybrid of I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched.
Thanks so much for this interview. Carnivàle is still my favourite US series. I just finished a re-watch a couple of weeks ago, but now I kind of feel I need another dose of carnival justice.
What time does AHS play on the US West Coast, then? I'm in Western Canada and our version of FX plays the show at 7 pm and 10 pm, Pacific time. I've never checked but I'm pretty sure we've only got the one feed that tries to cater to both coasts (and everywhere in between) at the same time.
Re: Quinn/Nadia - so very agreed. So many of their subplots go nowhere:
Angel/LaGuerta, Angel/Vice Cop, Dexter's kids, etc. This show seems
particularly ruthless about setting up pointless storylines JUST to fill
time and to round-out Dexter's world, and then dropping them without
much in the way of resolution,…

Agree. I'd like this show to end so Hall can move on to something better. This show is an albatross around his neck, dragging him down.

I hope next year Deb and Dex have duelling Ghost Dads.
