If we're seriously using this analogy, then we also have to take into consideration that the band is not just 4 (or in this case, 6) guys who get together.  There's marketing to contend with.  There's contracts to adhere to.

I would consider myself somewhat familiar with the Madonna track (granted…not nearly as familiar as my 14-year-old self was with the "Express Yourself" video, but…); I listened to the whole damn "Bus Stop" thing, and I couldn't pick out the offending "sample".

Am I annoyed-as-hell with the Larry the Cable Guy character?  Yes.  But, you have to admit- the one time he finally comes out on stage as Dan Whitney, drops the bullshit southern accent, and just lays into his redneck crowd, Bill Hicks-style?  That show will be a thing of beauty.

Watched it earlier today, and it absolutely hit the sweet spot between early "Real World" and "Undressed"- a sweet spot I'd forgotten about since I was about 17, so…yes, much enjoyed.
