I don't watch Big Brother but I will read Cochran's reviews

The pressure is getting to him
I feel like a broken record, but PROJECT FREE TV!
All-Stars is probably the most historically significant season to do for Survivor Classic considering it was the first season of a reality show to do returning players (at least I think, I'm no expert on reality TV at large). The dynamics of how people who know each other played Survivor and the egos involved was…
The idea was that the alliance was more ready to betray Philip than Andrea or Cochran and as the glue holding that alliance together he was probably the 3rd best option behind those two anyways
I agree. It's hard to fault Malcolm's logic with the Philip vote though, considering that there's no precedent for having 3 idols in your possession. The idea of making sure Philip got voted out instead of someone like Sherri was sound but Malcolm absolutely underestimated the chaos he created. I'm really excited to…

@avclub-a5fdfa672284da6bf4f4326e2b3698bd:disqus So what are we in now? The Iron Age?
Cochran was obviously the Most Improved Player this season but Andrea runs him a close second. Only Boston Rob, Amber, and Parvati are even close to these two in Survivor history.
I would say something about how you could possibly be a respected AV Club commenter and not watch Mad Men. Then I remembered that I haven't watched any episodes in a month and am now just saving up for an end-of-season binge. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt
You people are all too nice. I'm way too competitive to give up a spot in the big leagues- even if it is the big leagues of internet fantasy Survivor.
Rupert was leader of the dominant alliance in Pearl Islands before Fairplay blindsided him, he would've won All-Stars if he made it to the end against basically anyone except Big Tom and he was the least uncompetent Hero in HvV. I am by no means advocating for Rupert as a great Survivor mastermind or anything like…
What @avclub-a5fdfa672284da6bf4f4326e2b3698bd:disqus said. In fact, players like Tyson, Courtney, and Sandra who speak honestly and don't hide their feelings have been some of the best social players in Survivor history. The idea that you need to kiss everyone's ass is a myth- some people are just likeable and Sandra…
Kim's by-far the greatest one-time female player of all time and probably the greatest one-timer period. She's gonna need to do it a second time though for me to move her into the pantheon though. Sandra, Parvati, Boston Rob, etc. are all in the pantheon because they went out and did their thing more than once. Kim…
Well the dominance was more in reference to Micronesia. This season I would classify him as competitive. As to his understanding he is a legitimate super-fan: he understands the strategic and social elements of the game. He clearly has no idea how to execute but his reasoning (when we're shown this and I'm basing much…
There's no way Erik is the worst of the shows prominent players- his physical dominance at least and genuine understanding of the game (even if he lacks the ability to execute) must place him above the Sugars and Brandons and Sue Hawks of the world.
Ian is interesting because he never actually betrayed Tom- he just considered it but Tom won immunity before he could pull the trigger. Tom practically bullied him into giving up immunity for a betrayal he didn't even commit.
Great points. I've always argued that a strong social game is the single most important element of a Survivor player. You can't make strategic moves if you don't have social bonds and even the greatest strategy in the world won't win a jury vote if you didn't connect with the jurors on a social level. Parvati is a…
Hehe Cochran got 69……….I'll see myself out
