The Betrayal gets a pass purely for "you can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister".

Rocko's Modern Life is an all time classic. It really was very SpongeBob-like, but even more risque (and funnier). Heffer worked at a restaurant called 'Chokey Chicken' for christ's sake.

Classics, all.
Jesus I used to love this show. This, Sister Sister, Alex Mack and Keenan And Kel pretty much were my childhood (although I suspect I was slightly too old to be watching any of them).

Fixing the awards
The Grammys:
1)Far too many categories. There are something like 110 categories in total which is patently ludicrous. They could easily whittle that down by two thirds. I mean, really, does there need to be five rap categories? Seven R&B categories? It's madness.

Jerry Stiller is hilarious. He's one of those guys that is so inately funny, and has such a unique delivery that he can render almost anything funny. He was the only reason I ever watched King Of Queens.

Yeah, Curb is a perfect example of characters laughing at each others jokes (which I guess is a little easier in an improvised environment). It's just so much more realistic, and in my opinion much funnier.

Elaine Laughing
I've been rewatching my Seinfeld DVDs lately and the thing about Elaine laughing only hit me recently too. Her laugh is so ingratiating that you can't help but love her. (I also adore the sort of semi-crying voice she does at times when's she's been caught out.)

Ah, I'm always amused when people superciliously refer to 'fanboys', as if being an avid supporter of something is in someway a bad thing. Adding 'dullard' was the icing on the cake.

@Todd - I think the humour lies in the fact that the dance was pretty much only done by West Indian people. The idea of a white woman being fascinated by it enough to want to write a column on it for other white women is funny.

Pourquoi?

@Jedi - Yeah, Fist Of Fun was amazing, I still to this day use Simon Quinlank's term "weak lemon drink".

@Prankster - I liked Ghostbusters 2!

I can totally understand that would be your reaction having not seen series one. If 'Back' was the first episode I'd ever seen I'm sure I'd have been hooked, but because I'd already seen all that had come before it felt redundant and disappointing. However, the rest of series two is slice after slice of fried gold.

Yeah, that's true. The parody was unfunny back then, but at least had the benefit of being timely. Now it has neither time nor humour on its side.

@Retrograde Amnesia (I see no point in wilfully distorting your username):

@Retrograde Amnesia - I think that's a massive overstatement. I would assume that the vast majority of people reading a column about metal would be pre-existing metal fans. I sincerly doubt Pierce converted any Arcade Fire fans into Anaal Nathrakh lovers.

The Daisy/Tekken bit is one of my favourite bits of Spaced (not for what is said, but for the editing between the characters and the game). It's second only to the finger gunfight.

I think the reason why the Matrix parody has dated so badly is linked to what Todd said. The fact that the sequels were shit made it uncool, so it has lost it's pop culture cachet.

Christ, I'm old enough to remember when bogling was actually a thing being done by people in nightclubs. I think it was about that time I stopped frequenting such clubs and discovered heavy metal.

I too was amused at Todd's wording of "bumping soccer balls with his head", but yeah, he can't be expected to know UK football parlance.
