Glide64 (the existing plugin) DOES support hi-res textures, actually. There's a whole community of people that made texture packs for certain games; most notably (IMHO) a Wind Waker-style retexturing of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

IIRC, they had to reshoot Cutlery Barn for the DVD because they lost the original footage, which as can be seen is an incalculable loss. Showalter's face during the end laughter is still one of my favorite faces of all time.

A half-complete map isn't very interesting and probably should have revealed some flaws with the creation process to its creator.
