Anyone seriously interested in robots, war and the potential for becoming self-aware should read Wired for War by PW Singer. Pretty fascinating look at the current state of robotics and where we'll probably be in about 25 years. He also devotes a considerable amount of time to the problems inherent with letting

Ok, never heard that from Danson et al., but then why does Cross's persona on the Mr Show commentaries seem so different from his stand-up appearances? (Or maybe it doesn't to other people…am I alone here?)

His stand-up persona is just a character though; I'm not really sure that you can draw conclusions about what the dude is actually like from listening to his comedy albums. It's sort of like claiming that LD on Curb is the same as the real Larry David. (In fact, David's even said that he writes the character on Curb

I really, truly hope that there is a light-hearted action-adventure-y animated series in 5-10 years detailing Hurley and Ben's years as the guardians.

Not sure if it's what Foxy was referring to, but you should read up on the concept of the bardo in Buddhism.

Huge Blur/Gorillaz fan here, and I just find it impossible that anyone would rate Plastic Beach over either Parklife or the self-titled Blur album. PB is good and all, but those were two of the greatest albums of the 90s. (And I'd also rate Modern Life Is Rubbish as better than the 2nd or 3rd Gorillaz albums.)

It's sacrifice, Nakedfoul, because you don't even know if there is an afterlife or not, let alone knowing that your friends will all be there waiting.

A month or two back, several gossip sites were running blind items that STRONGLY alleged that the guy who plays Phil is having a pretty torrid affair with the girl who plays his daughter. (The legal one, natch.)

I think that if Locke can kill Jack before he can pass along the torch of protection, then there will be no protector. And with no protector, I'm guessing anybody can find the light.

Jack Shephard casually mentioned that he has taken flying lessons in the Pilot.

He probably kept his mind straight with all the weaving.

@Chap — Here's a theory/explanation. Widmore just wanted to get back to the Island/remove Ben. So he sends the freighter folk down to torch the place. They fail, and instead a group of survivors from 815 comes back. At this point, presumably Hawking and Jacob contact Widmore and advise him that these are the key

""Across the Sea" showed us that Jacob just did what his mother told him and didn't question anything she said for even a millisecond."

Noel just needs to let go!

I thought it was Fionula Flanagan (AKA Mrs. Hawking and whose name I just surely misspelled) — but doctored up with some child-T-Pain-AutoTune effect or something.

I was out…
But they pulled me back in. Across the Sea didn't sit quite right with me at first, but over the last week, I've come to terms with what it had to offer and decided I was still (pretty heavily) invested in this story.

@King B - I don't think the selection of the class was at random. One of the kids attacks Beat Takeshi's character (their teacher) with a knife and one of the other students hides the weapon to protect the classmate.

Or there's this place called Netflix that will actually mail you the DVD to watch.

I don't see a need to convert anything to 3D.

I'm with you, Ohboy. I watched it a few times in the first season and found it to be pretty much unwatchable.
