Disqus won't let me reply to your response to me so I'll have to put it here.

I finally got around to seeing Funny People a week or two ago and am now more mystified than ever that people keep referring to Randy as a break-out character. Ansari's in the movie for about a minute total. I was talking to a friend who saw it in theaters and didn't even remember that Ansari was in it. Did I, like,

Just the opposite happened in my little hometown when I was in high school. Wal-Mart opened a new Super Wal-Mart and, in a little under a year, roughly 10-15 long-running locally owned businesses went under. The town's never bounced back; just been getting more and more economically depressed every year since then.

Exactly! Can't believe it took someone this long to get to the meat of the argument here. I referred to an former friend of mine as a "fucking idiot cockbag" the other night, but it doesn't mean I'm a misandrist. It means I really dislike the guy now.

I actually feel like The Wire milked more comedic potential from a political campaign than P&R has.

He didn't play that stereotype on 30 Rock or on Portlandia, IIRC.

Doesn't seem like that should be the case, but I'm having trouble coming up with examples of others on sitcoms. What are yours?

She's also worth like $3 billion or something so double kudos!

I don't think they were so much defending LDR so much as A) simply addressing the issue and B) pointing out that SNL sometimes has good musical guests and sometimes has really shitty ones. But for some reason, the LDR performance was seemingly the only thing that anyone was talking about for the week afterward. Which

@ Newton Gimmick — (Not sure why I can't directly reply…) Anyway, SY haven't ever played SNL.

I'm pretty sure I'm way over-qualified. However, I'm also unemployed at the moment and fit all the other criteria, so why not?

If one were to apply for this, should we just send links to published writing samples or include them as an attachment to the application email?

I read an article about that very subject a couple years ago. Under Communist rule, they didn't have things like make-up or Vogue or nice clothes or exercise or beauty salons or nutrition so they were, to our Capitalist minds, pretty uggs. Now that they have access to those things, things have changed radically.

You've never read the comments on the reviews of Community here, have you?

"Shit" can also describe something quite beautiful.

You thought the scene with Patrick Stewart was rubbish?

I wouldn't count the multi-camera format completely out. Let's not forget that Louis CK has previously championed the format and just inked a deal at CBS. If any current known entity in the world of television can revitalize the genre, it'll be him.

So, wait. Last week (I think), the office agrees to let Jim have a week off due to the rigorous demands of having two small children. This week, Pam is back at work and he's just taking off to Florida for 3 weeks for some mystery project? Did I miss something or does this just not follow?

No kidding. That shit was horrible. Whose bright idea was it to revive the Peter Cetera sound?
