A couple of you have referred to D9 (rather pejoratively) as having a "big budget". You do realize that the film was made for only $30M, right? Which is a pittance for any sort of action-y summer film.

Hot Sluts
I checked this out a few weeks ago strictly due to Alison Brie's involvement, and, wow!, was it bad! Like, mind-numbingly awful. Think I'll pass on the rest of Mr. Miles' work.
@ The Sea Captain — As a big fan of film noir, I always used to relish that anecdote. However, I finally got around to reading all of Chandler's Marlowe novels a couple of summers ago and was surprised to discover that the novel The Big Sleep makes it fairly clear that the character in question (the chauffeur)…
Yep, I'm going AV Club free from here on out. Different board, but I had the S3 finale spoiled for me by some off-hand random comment in something unrelated a few years back. Not taking that chance again…
Since the digital swtich…
I get all 4 of the main networks in HD for free with an antenna I got for $2.99 from a dollar store in Brooklyn. Combine that with Hulu, Netflix, etc., and I have absolutely zero need for cable.
Always liked that expression…it shows up in Monty Python 's Argument sketch.
Remake?
So is this a British remake of Gran Torino? Or just awfully similar?
Who knew?
Neve Campbell is still acting???
What's the difference between Pavement and The Fall?
People actually enjoy listening to Pavement!
Breaking Bad is usually pretty stunning in the visual department as well. Lost is gorgeous, but some of that is certainly due to Hawaii's natural beauty.
Maybe he can buy Dustin Diamond's old place?
@ Widless — I'm starting to lose some of my faith with the explanations we're getting as well. I wasn't ever expecting everything to add up perfectly, but we've started getting some answers to stuff that don't make sense within the context/plot of the show itself and that directly contradict alleged hard and fast…
Actually, Steffs, I'm pretty sure that Locke claims that he can't smoke-fly over the water in the ep where he sends Sawyer over to have his tete-a-tete with Widmore. (At work, though, so I can't verify that now.)
@ Holland — Sun has to be the candidate, I think. (Or Ji Yeon.) Smokey keeps saying (and I think Jacob even said it once too) that the only way the candidates can leave the Island is if they all travel together/leave at the same time. The fact that Jin never left would indicate that he's not the candidate.
Actually, behindarock mentioned it. Nevermind…
Another weird Christian moment (that I don't think anyone's mentioned on this thread so far)…at one point during the S3 finale in the flashforward-y parts, Jack tells another doctor that he should "go upstairs to my father's office and ask him about it".
"please leave your impressions of the poster out of it"????? This coming from the site that has deified ZMF over all of its other commenters? The guy who constantly insults and puts down everyone and their mothers?
I still don't get that A+
Last season's finale was really good, but the penultimate episode was so much funnier. (Also, S3's finale was better than S7's.)
@ Salieri and Bnr — Thank you guys for bringing a little sanity back to this whole piece/comment thread.
Sounds shitty? It sounds like a slightly tweaked version of NewsRadio just going by the synopsis.
