I thought his role in American Gangster was going to signal a comeback—he's weirdly menacing in that role—but alas, it was not to be.

"We're gonna build a paywall, and we're gonna make the Onion pay for it!"

Well, we can say this for Insurrection: it's not Nemesis.

Well, it's not that, either.

I'm a big fan of "Raining in Baltimore" and "A Murder of One," but yes, the album holds up quite well all these years later. I suspect CC would probably have a better critical reputation if their lead singer didn't A: have that fucking haircut, and B: date 1/3 of the cast of Friends.

I was 12 when I saw the premiere after the Super Bowl, so I guess we're tied.

Yeah, I was going to say: this is a great article, but I wish it had mentioned "Task Force X," possibly the greatest episode of one of the greatest comic book adaptations, full stop.

Hey now, the A-Team movie was…not as terrible as it could have been.

Also, "wax nostalgic" will be 2026 slang for "masturbating."

Oh shit whaddup

Yeah, Legacy is really…odd. Like Dowd, I enjoyed Renner's different take on the superspy archetype, and Rachel Weisz is always an asset to your movie. But there's even less plot than the earlier movies, and [SPOILER] the only time Renner comes face to face with the movie's primary antagonist is in a flashback. A very

R.I.P. Alan Vega.

Since we're talking all of pop culture, I'm going to put in a word for the Lucifer of Grant Hart's album The Argument, an album based on Paradise Lost that is way more rocking and fun than something like that should be: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

"Curse your intergalactic light jazz villainy, Krall!"

There's nothing I don't love about this metaphor.

As she did in "Face of the Enemy," which is probably the only really good Troi-centric episode.

I had forgotten how very attractive Megan Gallagher is. So, thanks for that, A.V. Club editors!

I wouldn't go that far, but I definitely noted its absence from this list.

Yeah, I think he felt (correctly) that the segment was spinning out of control, so his first impulse was to shut it down. Regrettable, but understandable.
