Tom has mentioned on the show (repeatedly) that he is over 50.

He was making the rounds before his falling out with PFT - he did DLM, Sklars, etc. My understanding is He and Tom were supposed to do a show together, then Tom decided he didn't want to do the show (he has been shopping a new show around in LA with a comedy troupe) and PFT dropped him from facebook and twitter (as

I love the Best Show and I love Tom; that is why I despair when I hear him wallowing in resentment and self pity. It isn't part of his charm. A couple years back, Tom was more light-hearted and playful - for the last 6 months or so (since his break up with PFT) he has become this defensive, festering old crank. It

Right on - Huell Howser remains the funniest character to appear on CBB and, while I'm glad they retired him before he got stale, Ventura and the rest don't measure up.

How is Klausner's podcast making it in each week? Is anyone out there loving this podcast? Her sex and the city ramblings are mind numbingly boring and cliche. I'm guessing the AVC feels guilty that their aren't more podcasts in the round up hosted by women. Fine - how about we go with Tig's podcast instead? Anyone

UYD remains the freshest comedy podcast running (and praise be to AVC for recognizing them week after week) but they have to fix that janky-ass mic and quick.

C'mon -  15/85 is probably the ratio of women to men in the comedy world, right? All of the podcasts are criticized for the scarcity of female guests - there simply aren't that many in the business.

It is funny because I've never liked Gillian Jacobs on Community but I actually found her pretty charming and actually funny on Tompkast - funnier than, say, Jen Kirkman, for instance.

I listened to it at the gym as well and found myself guffawing like an idiot on the running machine. Ventura is pretty played out (Adomian isn't inspired - he comes in with a set of references and drops them in as needed) but Ice T was brilliant.

Oh, come on - Tom's defensive whiny bullshit about being above and beyond all other comedy podcasts by virtue of the fact that he raised money for the station cancelled out any good will he established in the first half of the show.  My sense is this - when Tom inveighs against the LA comedy scene, it is all really

He's like bacon. Everything's better with bacon, granted. Some things, in fact, are pretty much intolerable without it…like liver, for instance…or the Todd Glass show.
That said, we have all been consuming quite a bit of bacon lately…delicious bacon…

Mostly miss. I was looking forward to Todd getting his own podcast for a long time and it has been an awful disappointment. Occasionally a good guest, like PFT, can channel his adhd, but it few are equal to the task - it is like training a border collie to manage a Burger King. Todd doesn't have it in him to host a

I hate to be such a raging kiss-ass, but I'd like to thank AV Club for keeping this thing going. Regardless of the repetition, you guys have good taste and the obvious effort you put in is appreciated.
I also want to thank the forum on behalf of Doug Benson. He would be rudderless without the sterling advice he has

I hear you guys - don't get me wrong, I've always found Matt to be something of a nebbishy creep, but lately he seems to have moved past accepting creephood to embracing it. I suspect he started out as a pet project for Chris and Jonah that they are beginning to give up on. I don't get the impression any of them

point taken.

Richter is one of the only guys who won't jump on a tangent or premise just because it is there. Galifinakis is good about walking away from a crap setup as well.

Klausner is the female Joe Rogan - he has his MMA and weed, she has her cat and they both sound like stoned teens.

C'mon, Doug (and again, if this is in fact Doug) it isn't a great comparison. First, Carolla isn't number one because he puts out more shows. He's number one because he has legions of slavishly loyal fans (like Stern) who would listen to him ramble every waking minute of the day if possible. You play to a different

Comedy Podcast MVPs (not just charming, likable, etc. but actually genuinely funny)
PFT, Oswalt, Kroll, Benson, Adomian, Richter, Schwartz, Kremer, UYD (for life)…
oh, and Hannibal Buress

"
I really wouldn't mind a few PFT spots being pulled so that Schwartz can show up more." Seconded - Schwartz (like PFT, Nick Kroll, Patton - in other words, genuinely  funny people) is one of the few guests who can carry any podcast just by showing up. Guys like Gelman, Stevens,  Ellwood, Kindler, etc. generally just
