Agreed, Captain Bathroom. That said, the guys need/deserve as much recognition as possible if we hope to keep the movement growing. Something weird happened after 318 - the first unscheduled break in the show's long history. Now more than ever, they deserve some props.

Right? How about stopping in just to chat awhile? TB's annual WFMU contribution boils down to the cheapest ad buy imaginable.

Why no UYD????

I'm left to assume their regular reviewer was out. I'm not sure why he bothers letting Todd Barry stop by to plug and run once a month (seriously - Barry makes zero effort; he is past even pretending he is there to do anything other than rattle off his show dates), but Tom was in good form this week.

I'm missing Joe Frank on KCRW lately….

He's a hybrid, like Scott Speedman in Underworld - 50% ghoul, 50% energy vampire (0% comedian).

Eeeeeexactly. I've been saying this for awhile as well. The blather and repetition of stale formats and overdone bits does get tiresome HOWEVER it is very cool that there are an abundance of options from smart/funny people like Benson, Maron, etc. available.
Some of the posters on podmass treat individual shows like

There he is…See, this is why I always respond with "if this is, in fact, Doug Benson"; you actually came through here a few hours ago, read every post about DLM and then took the time to write a defensive response to each one? The DB I know and love is more laid back than that.
Incidentally, I bought a copy

He didn't seem too keen on discussing his sudden reversal on marriage either.

"
it was cool to have Maron reveal their relationship to be Marc thinking David Cross is the fucking coolest and he just wants to hang around him" I really liked that facet of the discussion as well. Cross' career is riddled with disappointing and half-assed performances (a criticism that can be leveled at pretty much

Agreed - this is the problem with How Did…The last time I checked in on this mess one of the four was skyping in. It was like eavesdropping on a dorm room.

Howard has quickly become one of the most unique and charming voices in comedy podcasting. The format still bugs me a bit at times, but his laconic delivery paired with Kulap's antic giddiness is really refreshing. The Two Charted episodes are usually more entertaining than the regular eps.

I don't like Levine either, but I think it is kind of cool that DLM has what amounts to a villain character. The only time I've ever heard the always affable PFT break from his usual congenial personae was  the last tournament where he went off on Levine. He said something like "that is why people don't like you".

I was looking forward to it when I heard Cross had started shooting it and I hung in there for every dumb episode but it really failed to deliver, imo. The saddest part was he couldn't blame it on anyone other than himself. He had a top notch cast and complete freedom - the writing just wasn't any good. Each episode

I noticed that too - aint no sunshine when PFT's gone…

Actually, they do incorporate "new to us" pods into the regulars if they find them to be promising. I believe "you made it weird" is an example of a recent addition.

With respect, that is kind of bullshit dude. You don't like me bagging on Benson - sorry, but the show is getting stale; just my opinion. Like everyone else here, I post about what I love without reservation (UYD, Superego) and what I dig but think could use improvement (DLM, Best Show, CBB, WTF, etc.) - in other

I liked that he acknowledged that he should have assumed this position when he first started taking crap over it. (What he didn't mention was that it was Patton Oswalt who first called him out about it - that should have come up in the interview.) I don't think anyone has ever begrudged Cross getting paid; it was more

The average age of the hosts in the best and rest categories is about 40. Listening to these duffers wax on about the NY/Boston/LA comedy scene in the 90's, auditioning for SNL, getting sober….meh. It held my attention for longer than I care to admit, but the novelty has worn off. This goes for the manufactured

He did the same thing with Doug Benson. Gilmartin is a ghoul - I stopped listening. WTF does the same thing to some extent, but when it becomes clear that the person doesn't really have any hang-ups, Maron gives up the hunt to return to making light of his own issues. Gilmartin doesn't have anything else going for
