Yup. It seems like everybody's in this one.

Man, I just can't imagine hating the Beastie Boys.

Wow, what a cool, cool guy Shore Patrol is.

Wow, this is weird: I was just joking with my friends about how Zodiac is one of my "comfort movies". That and All the President's Men. I don't even know, man. I was actually going to get some of my homies to watch Zodiac with me this weekend, but the more I think about it the more creepy that sounds….

True, and I think that was a nice touch. But I think the implication of the final three scenes (Toschi and Graysmith at the diner, Graysmith and Allen, the epilogue) is that the people most haunted by the case are at peace because they "know" who the Zodiac was despite not being able to convict him. I think Graysmith

Word. This was a great read. Props to O'Neal. Random Roles is consistently one of the greatest things about The A.V. Club.

I love Zodiac. So many dope actors in the cast (featuring what is possibly Ruffalo's best performance). A masterpiece for David Fincher and Harris Savides. I think the film contradicts itself a little by (SPOILERS) pointing so conclusively to Arthur Leigh Allen at the end, but other than that it's one of the best of

The Brothers Bloom is too good of a movie to really fall under this in my opinion, but yeah that scene/Weisz is great.

    edit

Yeah, but I dig it because a) his punchlines are pretty funny, b) his new EP is dope and c) it is not unlikely that it's actually him posting.

Owen Wilson has been great before.

    Good observations
Part of the reason why Community and Glee have such a gulf in quality yet have multiple similarities is because those shared elements are utilized in creative in interesting ways with the former and (mostly) lazy and inconsistent ways in the latter.

    I'm interested
My Own Private Idaho fascinates me like no other film I've ever seen. It's not perfect, but it's a visual masterpiece and it's so insanely audacious and audaciously insane that I consider it one of my favorites.

    RIP
I don't really have any significant observations to add, but I really admire him and his work. I remember reading about him when I was young and just getting into comics. He got me thinking about writing and, as this Newswire says, challenging assumptions. Really sad news. RIP.

Also: it's pretty generous to consider what Bizarre does "rapping".

Yup. I suppose you could make the argument that even the teenage lunkheads who understand he isn't really encouraging people to shoot each other probably won't understand that he isn't really heterosexist, but I (and younger me) see your point. Another thing: he kills Dr. Dre on the record (twice), while also rapping

Yeah, thinking about it, I actually got into Eminem around the same time I really started thinking critically about separating the artist from the art they make. I remember being weirdly moved by "Kim" while hating the idea of it. Then I was kind of fascinated by Mathers as a person, finding a lot of redeeming

Being a frustrated teenager who hated homophobes but loved The Marshall Mathers LP, I justified it for myself with the typical routine: 1) Slim Shady is pretty obviously satirical 2) Eminem constantly raps about himself having sex with men/plays with cross-dressing imagery 3) him and Elton John are BFFs 4) "The Real

Word. The "lights" motif that came to its boiling point on the last album really began here. One of the first times Kanye really did a good job at depicting one of his pet themes: the conflict between his need for domesticity and his addiction to hedonism and emptiness. Plus, it's got a dope beat and is just a damn

I think it would be cool if they just interpreted that section however they wanted. Although Joanna Newsom doing the Pusha T verse is mandatory.
